Disqualification Message:
This has been the subject of a lot of SC discussion and has led to a 7:1 vote for a DQ. Even with the most liberal interpretation of removing distracting elements, this photo breaks a rule as it is written. The rules indicate that where distracting elements are removed, they must be replaced by what would have been there (I.e. behind the removed element). The creation of the shadow, within the cloned in/out area breaks this rule. That’s not to say that all SC agreed that what was removed was a ‘distracting element’ but it became a moot debate because of the shadow being added where there wouldn’t have been one.
