Okay, there are a lot of basic things that I think will bring the score for this pic down. The bright reflection off of the piece in the lower-middle of the pic. The distracting edges (upper right corner and lower edge). The darkness of the rest of the pic especially compared to that strong glare in the middle. It definitely meets the challenge, but it could use some tweaking.

The lighting doesn't do this any favours. The bottom of the picture is an unnecessary distraction.

On camera flash doesn't help this image.
Try to ues a more imaginitive lighting setup. Either try to get your flash off your camera, or use window lighting or a reflector to make things more interesting and softer.

lighting is too harsh. you should not use your flash straight on, it should be bounced then you wont get the green reflection from the eyes.
