Hello from the critique club

A very pleasing contribution to the open challenge

An excellent macro Gin Tay, perfectly executed. Great control of the tiny DOF with good sharp detail where it matters most. Good lighting and colour throughout, I love the iridescence on the wings. This is not an easy shot to get right, you've done well to get this excellent result, well done

An appealing image that meets the challenge well

What an amazing building, well found and captured. I like that you have chosen to take the shot in the evening presumably to avoid the distractions of any people in the shot? Technically the shot is excellent with good DOF and detail throughout and taken from a position to show off the unique natural facade with its illumination. Another justly deserved winner for you Gin, congratulations.

A lovely wildlife shot in very natural looking surroundings. I don't know if this was a captive animal but I like its intense stare together with your composition that rightly has the fox looking into the empty frame. Very good use of DOF and good sharp focus on the eyes, it all works really well together, nice one...

Very effective use of the tilt/shift technique Janine. I like the use of mono it contrasts the dark centre against the petal very effectively. Your composition is good, the soft focus areas really make the centre stand out. I like the whites but feel a touch less exposure may have benefited but all in all a very nice job, well done.

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge

This is an appealing landscape with your choice of composition featuring the water so prominently it takes you into the image as a whole nicely. Its even more interesting that there it is pure natural landscape alone with no other signs of life of any sort, which, of course, would not be the case its just not evident. There is unfortunately some detail lost in the highlights that may have been reduced during the exposure but good detail in the landscape itself. Well done for the high score and placement Janine

Hello from the critique club

An interesting image that contributes well to the challenge

A very symbolic and poignant image Susan, well seen and composed and ideal for the challenge. There is a very striking tension between the calm soothing tranquility suggested by the coloured window against the harsh aggressive roughness of the broken timbers and the crossed timbers of the beams. An excellent choice of viewpoint and composition has lifted this from a straight forward documentary record of an event in time to something much more meaningful, well done Susan.
