And the ship sails onby LevTComment by posthumous: subtleties are so important. my favorite thing about this photo is how the bar seems to be bending in her hat. This creates a real connection between girl and bars that I can feel. It shows that she is getting too close to them, pressing futilely against them. your composition gives us a teasing view of the world she's trying to get at. Eeyore is resigned to misery, as is his way. But he waits faithfully.
I wouldn't change a thing. |

And the ship sails onby LevTComment by Jedusi: I think this is a delightful picture which is perfectly suited to Black and White. You have a good range of tones and the chevrons on the dress help break up the strong lines generated by the railings.
I can see why you like it so much.
Edit to add, the cuddly Eeyore helps provide a gentle couterpoint to the strength and boldness of the railings, providing an anchor for the girls youth and innocence. This helps the dynamic tension of the picture.
Or at least that's my view. :- )

And the ship sails onby LevTComment by Melethia: Dang near made me cry and I'm not sure why. I think it's Eeyore, or however you spell it. Winnie the Pooh and his friends do that to me. From the pose she looks young but very strong and self-assured. The presence of Eeyore - by her side, but not clutched, emphasizes this. Not sure if that makes sense or not, but that's what I see. |

And the ship sails onby LevTComment by timfythetoo: First off let me just say that Eeyore ROCKS! And he also seems to be the right character for this image. I get the feeling that the little girl is kind of longing for something. Since we can't see her face for any expression, the pose, the doll and the title steers it along. I like the patterns of her outfitand hat and the lines of the fence. The b&w feels very good, but I would also be interested inseeing a color version. This is a very nice capture. Good eye. |
