DAVID-BLAINE-002.jpgby jblaylockraynerComment: Owph! I feel sick just looking at this - the things we do for a photograph. Well, OK, I don't have the guts for anything adventurous, but I certainly apreciate this - you got a good 'un! |

Fishermans & Friendsby MiepComment: What an intriguing photo - there is so much to see, almost like an illustration from a child's story book. |

The Future Lance Armstrongby timfythetooComment: Timfy/Aimee, you need to get your needle and thread out! That grin is getting worryingly mischievous ;¬D . Love the way he is holding the bar - real 'attitude'! Also glad to see he is wearing a helmet - the first day my youngest came of her stabilisers she cycled smack into a concrete lamp post and split her helmet in two! |

bike left aloneby paper_mandaComment: I would have gome for a tighter crop - I like the framing to the lower right, but don't feel the extra space to the left and above add anything. I also have some reservations about the focus, which appears a bit soft on the bike. |

Retrospectby L1Comment: Laurie, the 10 was mine; I am so surprised and disappointed to find that this only placed at 126. You used the contre-jour technique effectively, and in the way that I understood it to mean; the photograph is well composed and aesthetically pleasing, and holds lots of interest outside of a mere study of the technique. All in all, very good work - and the fact that it is a photo that has such personal meaning for you makes it even more special; I am glad that you are able to use photography as a way of coping with your grief - I am sure Byron would adore this photo! |

Hiding in a Silhouetteby illusionaryComment: To work well silhouettes need to clearly define a shape. Here the picture is too cluttered; for example, the two buildings to the left of the subject are distracting and cause the silhouette of your model to become less ditinct. |
