red poppy 01by tnunComment by tnun: Thank you commenters and patio###.
pixelpig: good question. I think the noise is a product of bringing up more colour/saturation, decreasing the gamma/lightness, and all the torture I put it through - for sure the USM creates strange artifacts after awhile. As well I am working with a small jpg file(albeit the crop was slight on a 4mp image) although you wouldn't think that would matter at the sizes we post on dpc.
Will try to post original. |

red poppy 01by tnunComment by Jutilda: Oh that is lovely. I like the delicateness and almost high key feel of it with the hint of grain. It's like a delicious abstract. |

red poppy 01by tnunComment by pixelpig: Sweet! Speaking artistically, the noise adds texture that is harmonious & interesting. I'm surprised to see so much noise on an over-exposed image (is it noise?) This is beautiful! |

red poppy 01by tnunComment by sherpet: This is also great, being the original, but I like what patio127 did with her processing of your awesome pastel image. |

dappledby tnunComment by EstimatedEyes: Beautiful and subtle play of greys and light, looks like a charcoal drawing. This is why I try to go through shots at least twice when voting ... put this in the six bucket originally, now back for a second look to bump you to an 8, and I may be back again. Ah heck, make it a 10. Don't see how dappled light gets much better than this. Good luck! |
