It Has Hatched!!by LadyKComment by tanguera: Very cool shot. Love the explosive hatching. Would have liked a bit more of the hatchling to be visible... |

IMG_0093by LadyKComment by eschelar: Nice triangular compo. I'm quite happy with the fact that it's off-center. Doesn't detract IMHO.
What I don't like:
#1 - You seem to be using some moderately heavy handed editing on these. Look at the arms, there's bright red speckling all over the place. That suggests a really high level of saturation in at least one or two channels.
Also, I'm seeing very odd artifacts in the stones. Could be "less than desirable" bokeh, but I'm not that familiar with the 24-70 f/2.8.
As far as exposure, those rails are torqued a little bit too strong. They are by far the brightest things in the entire picture, and as such, they attract all the eye's attention.
Tough to balance since the girl is backlit...
Also, another factor in this is the very dark scenery. I actually don't dislike that tremendously, it's just that it seems a bit strong when compared with the rest of the scene.
And as with the others, the girl is underexposed. Especially in the face and eyes. |

IMG_0272by LadyKComment by eschelar: I like the colors and the luminosity in the sunset (having recently dabbled with sunsets for the first time), but it does look a bit like you've taken this to HDR and it's gone a bit wrong for you with the haloing and some other unusual artifacts.
Also, not sure if it was possible, but the girl seems kind of underexposed. And I'm not sure what emotion I'd call that on her face. Nothing jumps to mind.
Otherwise, it's a nice composition with the girl and sun and water. I'd probably slice about 10% or so off the top tho. Message edited by author 2010-07-08 10:49:44. |

The Ring and the Roseby LadyKComment by davidw: I do not understand why this scored so low. I gave it a 7 during voting. It could have handled a bit more DOF (it looks like a red piece of fabric and more DOF could have showed us more of the rose), but that makes the difference between a 7 and an 8, it doesn't make it a 4.85. |

Nature's Perfectionby LadyKComment by MacDonald: All your flower shots are beautifully composed but this one really draws me in. Lovely lines, colors and very nice post processing. A delicate beauty. |

The Ring and the Roseby LadyKComment by dizus: I would like the focal point to be the biggest stone, but it seems that the smaller stones on the right are sharper. Beautiful idea though and fine execution. 8 |
