Okay, rumourmongers!
When is the 8.2 megapixel 320D/Rebel 2, or 350D/Rebel+ coming out. We have the 20D due in Mid-September, so the new 300D/Rebel can't be far behind.
Anyone heard any rumblings or want to make an educated guess?
I am interested in seeing what you think, and will it be a Black Bodied DSLR? |

Probably replacement for a 1Ds.
Also, i got from a very reliable source on the 20D autofocus and 10D autofocus issues.
20D will be calibrated by computer software/hardware. 10D was calibrated by Canon USA with HAND, not with a hardware device. That's why by sending your camera in, it doesn't always work. They have NOW implemented a set of calibration mechanism that will assure accuracy (machine calibration, automated) for 10D focus issues. 20D manufacturing has this integrated.
:^) so send your camera into Canon if you're still having problem with focusing.

I have no clue where this rumour comes from...according to their rollout plan, which was widely advertised at the trade shows, the 300D is to be produced and not up-dated before december 2005 or even sprind 2006, with the exeption of the black body (like the one already availble in Japan and the middle east). |

Yeah, its the replacement for the 1Ds plus another camera, at least that's what he's claiming. Given he's the guy who originally leaked the 1Ds replacement and the 20D, its interesting that he feels there is a third body appearing in September.

If you wait for the next best thing to come, you will NEVER EVER by anything... get a rebel now, buy some flash and lens and get some experience... because if you think about rebel... your are mostly amateur (like me) pro already know they need a mark2 or 1ds.... when you will know what you need, maybe in 2-3 year, buy it with experience mind... and try tu used your equipement as much as you can, bring it everywhere... I have read somewhere on the net something like that.... amateur have perfect little camera that is as clean as the first day they got it, mine is chip, dent, abuse, but what great picture that came out from that use... camera is only the way to get picture freeze in time.. it is a tool... use it and trash it... but keep the result (picture)... just my new idea about photography... before i was all about the toy-tool... now it is result

Comes from the same guy quoted in that other rumor. So far he was correct on the 1D, 1DMkII, 10D, D60, 300D, 1Ds and 20D or so. Seems to at least have a reasonable source of gossip that's more accurate than most.

I have also noted that there is a new Rebel about to be released in USA. I think it was on the Canon site where they said that the Rebel T1, which everyone is using is going to get a slight revamp and it will be Rebel T2.
Forget that rumour, its for the SLR Rebel. Damn!
