This thread reminded me that it's been a some time since I've used the Polaroid.

So who else is interested in a month of Polaroid?

Only requirement is that you use a Polaroid camera. ;)

No need to post daily. The film is a bit pricey, so a pack or two for the month may satiate your analog desire.

Would love to but don't have a camera! I will look forward to following what you are up to though.

If I can get the film - I sure will!! I LOVE my polaroid!

Hmm... a little birdie told me I may have a Polaroid on the way. I suppose I should buy film. I can shoot 8 frames this month. Then maybe 8 more next month. I may have to mail them to someone to scan for me, though.

Can it be faux-polaroid lol?

Kinkos or one of those places can scan 'em... You can gang up maybe 6 of 'em on a flatbed scanner and do it in a single scan.

I have a copier/scanner/printer thingie at home but it royally sucks at scanning photographs. I tried with some from one of my cheapie film cameras and not very useful! Might not have been doing it right, though. Good idea with the Kinkos thing, Robt! Muchas gracias!

Deb, use your 100mm macro - before I got my scanner I just took pictures of my pictures (heh) and they came out just fine. Prop it up, light it well and put the camera on a tripod and you should be good to go.

Ordered film. :-)

Now I may have to build a small light tent thingie. The idea of the 100mm is a good one, as I think from what I am reading about this newfangled film stuff, it causes the picture to change over time. That in its own right could be a bit of fun, but one would probably want a repeatable shooting situation. Or not.

Ideas for light tents? Or just get a good lamp and tape the picture to the wall. :-)

The little ones are cheap on ebay. I got a big one off ebay ages ago now for 5 bucks. I never use the damn thing anymore though. It's too big!

eta: The little bird has flown! Hopefully it's little wings will make it cross country in good time. LOL!

Thanks, Kelli! Looking forward to it! :-)

As for a light tent, I've never bought anything off eBay. I may look around, though. I'm sure it would come in handy. I need one big enough to put a cat in.... Bwaaaahhhhahhahhahahaha!!!

Mine fits up to a small child! LOL! 48" x 48". I bet they're still not much more than what I paid a few years ago. I have a picture in my portfolio somewhere (at least I think it's still there) of JR sleeping in mine. It pops up like a tent out of a little tiny package and has various color backgrounds that velcro in. The problem is getting it back into that little tiny package.

Found it!

Where are folks getting their film? Is everyone doing the impossible? And if so, which cameras/films are you using?

Also, is there any way to confirm that this junk (600) camera I bought actually works? (That is, without taking a throwaway picture... at three bucks a pop!)

I think that's the only place you can buy it unless you buy expired polaroid (found on ebay, but I think even more costly than the impossible stuff).

Unfortunately the battery in the film is what operates the camera - to know if it works, you must sacrifice a shot - but just make it a good one, it'll be ok! :)

Also, make sure you clean the rollers first before loading film - any gunk on the rollers can leave marks on subsequent shots. I usually just use a damp q-tip (water) and dry the rollers after.

If I can find mine, I'll play. I used to love that crappy old camera, lol!

if you're taking requests, I'd love to see more manipulation :)

Very good advice.

Amazing image! I've ruined plenty of images trying the manipulation. Karen is fantastic at this.

So...are you going to join us?

I ordered a couple of packs. I'm interested in trying the new Silver Shade, first batch was a disaster and made a mess of the rollers.

The PX 70 FF Color Shade Triple Pack looks like a good deal if the film remains intact.

Thanks for the compliment Ben, but I beg to differ - this guy does some really great stuff.

But I'll see if I can't try some more pola manipulation for October; I've actually got a number of things I'd like to try, so it might be hard to find the time to give them all a spin...

Thanks for the link Karen. I've been enjoying his work this week.

My Impossible Project film arrived today. I'm interested to try out the the PX Color Shade/First Flush. You know you are in for an experience when it's a 2 for 1 deal. Anybody use it yet?

I also got a pack of their second run of the Silver Shade for my 600 One Step.
