Just to alert those who are still fascinated by the Decorah (Iowa) bald eagles,
they are nesting again with full camera views near a fish hatchery located in the Decorah area.
(Nothing like a full service restaurant nearby.)
Here is the link to them.
as I write this post, it is dark in Decorah, but it's a fun ride for the next few months as
the kids hatch and grow up.

Thanks for the reminder. I'm not sure when last I watched them.

Just watched the first feeding video

I'm going to hell for laughing so hard.

Hope this very cold weather doesn't harm them... it's mid-teens up here, and going to be around freezing daytime, well below at night for most of this week.

Some years, I have seen them protecting their eggs/hatchlings when everything is covered in deep snow!
Ma Nature seems to have this covered (so to speak)
Just noticed that they have seen evidence of the 2nd egg ready to release another eagle.
That rabbit is front and center this morning, too.

No fooling, April Snow in Decorah! It's quite a sight to see.

Doesn't look like they're too bothered by the cold.

Cute video of D29 and D30 having their first "fight" while D31 is hatching:

That's an excellent clip, ginarothfels!
And mom (or dad) breaks up the fight in the most appealing way.
Actually, the whole clip is interesting, and in some parts, really good photography.

Feeding time.

Edit: That didn't last long. I'm not sure D30 got anything.

I just watched live feeding. D29 was so intent on fighting with D30 that Mom almost had to force him to eat.

D29/30 are totally into sparring.

No doubt D31 will join in on the action in a few days.

Yes, the first two are spunky little fighters.
Somehow I think they will do just fine in their survival epic ahead.
Meanwhile, it's snowing again in Iowa.

Really windy in Decorah today. A minute ago it looked like the whole nest was shaking.

Don't worry about that nest. There's a video of how the base was constructed (man-made, after the original nest was knocked down by wind/lightning). It's a fortress.

I'm glad to hear it. I didn't remember the details but I knew something happened to the original nest.

Just watched feeding. Poor little D31 had to wait at the back until his older siblings had been fed.
