It's just a thread for us to post our 10th DPC GTG images to share worldwide, so that we can share and view them at one thread instead of having to open the individual location threads. Here's one from South Beach, Miami Beach, to get things started.

That's yakatme, CNovack, Manic, mbrutus2009, and Cory, in the lower right.

Art was everywhere you look for about a square mile.

Light lunch.

Nice thread, Waddy! I'll be posting soon when I figure out what I will probably use for FS. :)

Don't have a full team photo but this one was one of the ones I got of half the group.

I'm starting to think only the South Florida group took photos. ;)

I should wait until I have all the photos ready to be posted here but I figure if I keep doing one at a time... It's a "bump" to keep on the people who haven't posted here who went to a GTG.

Lol.

Great idea Waddy to create a 'one stop' thread to look at all the different DPC GTG this 10th year anniversary. No need to have several tabs open to look at all the threads:-)

From our photo walk 20 is the net total keepers from 168 shots. These are first 10 from the beginning and the end of the photo walk. The middle of the walk will come later.

Fedoras were pretty common in Miami... Didn't notice til I started looking through the photos! Lol.

Well I guess I am the first to post the Seattle GTG pics. It only lasted a few hours and we did have to trudge through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest...

And we met up at Smith Tower...

and rode the elevator up to the observation deck...

Frank ( caba) made it down for a bit, but we locked him outside. :P

Took a bunch of pics from 35 stories up...

Then it was back in the elevator and down to the first floor for some loitering, snapping and figuring out if we should even venture out into the cold, wet elements...

There was some debate about which way to go for food...

But we eventually made it to this place...

I had a great time! Looking forward to another in the spring.

Here's a few more from today...

More here...

sfalice took C_Steve_G, Isaac and I on a guided tour of San Francisco ... so far I have only made rough edits of the panoramic sets to see how they would come out. These are all made with the free demo version of AutoStitch with essentially the default settings, letting the software scale the image to 10% size to speed up the process, and minor processing in Photoshop after that.

The City from the Twin Peaks overlook:
Alcatraz Island:
360° view taken from near the Wave Organ on the yacht club breakwater:
You can get some really interesting effects if you do a vertical pan and don't have a tilt-shift lens ...

Here is the last set of the middle of the walk minus 2 which I may or may not post later.

Great stuff people! I only wish that I had been able to attend a GTG. Unfortunately, I was in Green Bay watching a poor excuse for a football game, LOL.

Maybe the tundra wasn't frozen enough? With a long-awaited change in the weather due in the middle of the week, maybe we'll have a regular Candlestick mudfest next week -- likely a contest to see which defensive line disables the other QB ...

HA! Seems to me our guys are good 'mudders'. Wait, that's another sport.
:)
Meanwhile, here are a few more pics from our adventure yesterday:
We all fit nicely into the Prius and got a good start at the Overlook just a few minutes away.
After finishing up at the Twin Peaks Overlook, just as the first Tour Buses of the day were disgorging their passengers, we headed down 24th Street to Balmy Alley in the Mission. Along with houses, the entire one block lane is covered in folk art:
......
From there, giving our flatlanders another hill or two to enjoy, we went up and over Potrero Hill to the drydocks (at about Mariposa and 3rd) where there was a cruise ship installed. Nice to see one right-side-up after the last few days of news from Italy.
......
A quick drive by AT&T Park and up to the house for a quick lunch before finding another hill to climb, especially as the weather was getting clearer.
Stopping by City Hall there was plenty of time to snap shots:
..
After avoiding a festival on Polk Street, we made it to California Street and being careful not to hit any of our National Monuments (the Cable cars) we ended up at the bottom of the hill and the Cable Car turnaround. The magic day continued with a truly convenient free parking spot infront of One California Street.
.....
There was no stopping on our drive through the Fisherman's Wharf area as it was wall to wall people. But we did find a spot in front of the Maritime Museum, where the guys admired the ships and I admired the Benny Buffano statue of a California Seal.

At the Wave Organ near the St. Francis Yacht Club, here was one more picture from me of the skyline. After that clear but windy stop, we headed home through the Presidio. Fun Day, for sure.

I would have enjoyed the GTG in S F. Be back later for a better look and to post some comments.

Good narrative, Alice. Thanks so much for the tour and the company.

Just a quick shot from yesterday:

First report on the "new" camera (DiMage Z1). It's a no-cost hand-me-down, and it exceeded all my expectations, delivering some images on par with the "Dilapidated D1".

More pictures in a few days...

- People from Miami know how to eat and run!

- WWII tent in the middle of a festival.

- "Whatchu Talkin Bout Willis? Oh, my bike? Yeah, no big deal or anything... It's on 4 inch rims..."

- Pup tried so hard to peek it's head around a lady next to me.

- Graffiti was everywhere! Good stuff too, not your normal "tag" that you see on train cars and bridges.

- I thought this building was really cool! Specially with the lights coming from the top of it.

Have the kids home, as it is a non school day, plus, it's snowing. So my photos will have to wait before they can be posted. Art, I enjoyed the narrative on your photos too!
