I find the NOM genre of memes to be particularly hilarious, such as this one.. we should have a challenge to see who can generate the funniest "NOM" inspired meme image caption is probably pretty obvious :) Easy to research, google images - NOM, or OM NOM NOM, etc...

Would have to be expert editing.

Why does it have to be Expert Editing? Basic is fine.

Fine for a photo = yes, but if the creator of the image wanted to do the demotivated style border with text, or add the white teeth as is seen in many other styles of the NOM memes then it would indeed have to be expert. But to take a photo of a cat with it's tail in it's mouth, you are correct that in it's self is basic. Great image you linked by the way.

Special rule: you can add text... just as we've done for myriad other challenges, including motivational posters. Too easy if you make the whole thing Expert.

Ok then, other special rule: You can PS teeth or eyes into the image, etc.

I assume Expert editing is feared here because Christophe will win no matter what? hahaha...

Funny, that people think Expert Editing makes it easy.

question: what the hell is "nom" and what is "meme"?

But it is so much harder to do it in Basic and Advanced. One actually has to set up a shot up in one fell swoop instead of being able to pick and choose different elements from 20 other shots.

Oh the challenge of having to actually visualize, set up, spend time , work and really get it right in 1 shot. The shame of it all!!!

=P

a meme is a trend or theme in pop culture.
nom is related to eating or biting. it's the words put up in comics etc where people are eating. if you're familiar with homer simpson, the sound they have him make for food comes from this... Homer nom

I am not speaking for anybody else but "Noming" comes from the sound made while eating" nom-nom-nom- picture the cookie monster.

Intenet memes (pron"Meeem" )are those one-off pictures with smug little phrases that people post on Facebook from Pinterest and the like.
a viral little comic/thought passed around the interwebs.

Nom, or nom nom nom, or om nom nom nom = pictures of something eating, or something that looks, or with the addition of eyes, teeth etc. can be made to look like something eating.

Meme = an idea that spreads

Beaten twice!

I give this challenge idea an enthusiastic "meh", but I'd look forward to voting on the entries.

Hahahahaa!! Love the image, but not so sure of Christophe's blue...SamanthaT's been kicking ass recently and beaten him a few tmes.

ETA: the origins of NOM...I always thought Cookie Monster was the originator. You know, he'd come across a cookie, seize it, stare at it in delighted rapture for a microsecond, then yell "COOOOKIIEEEEEE!!! Nomnomnomnom" as he demolished it. Homer certainly helped popularize it though, as did Lolcats.
