Remind me why I keep getting on this roller coaster? It rarely provides more pleasure than it does distress and disappointment. Sure, it is thrilling when you are going up and your hope is building. But, as the score grows so does your sense of dread in the inevitable impending drop. Then once the drop starts you can only hang on hoping it will bottom out soon. It would be so much more sensible to submit to the challenge and turn off your scores. Then maybe check on it a few days in when things level out. Yeah, that would be the smart thing to do... OOoo look, there's a line forming for the Tuesday roller coaster ride. I gotta go.

but would you still create these images without the prompt and the deadline? just think of the contest itself as free feedback on your art/craft - the important part is that you made something you might not have otherwise.

Yep, that is exactly why this place works for me. I might well plan to get out and create images, but without the prompt and the deadline much, much less would get done. The challenges get me shooting. The feedback in terms of scores and comments help me to learn. The score watching roller coaster ride is just a bonus.

Hi:
I'm a Newbie, so please bear with me. Grain VI is my first submission. Is it possible to have over 40 views with 0 votes and 0 comments? Or... do I not have "My Preferences" set up properly? Maybe the image is just that "bad"... but not 1 vote... not even a low vote after 42 views? What am I missing?

Thanks and best regards.

You should definitely have votes by now. Have you clicked on "My Home" up in the upper right hand area of the screen? And have you clicked the "update" button, on the left hand side of the screen once you're on your home page?

(by the way, 0 comments is pretty usual. Comments are kind of few and far between sometimes. But you should have votes by now)

Totally not normal. To the point that it's not even possible. Wait a day or so, and if this hasn't resolved itself, send in an administrative ticket.

DPC isn't normally this strange, but it's been a bit of a month.

Thanks for the "My Home" page suggestion. My Home page does displays some results, while My Profile page shows none - 0 statistics. I was checking for results on the My Profile page. Apparently, the two pages do not match.

My Home shows:

13 votes
4.58 average
0 commetns

Thanks for the help. Now, it's time to just let it roll.
