Working on my Pattern V entry...

So far just interesting textures and interesting smells, but no good patterns. :P

*I hate these kinds of challenges.

I like toothpick better than pattern V. But I hate challenges like "two becomes one", which should be called "Shoehorn XII" ;-)
Still, they can't please everyone all the time. :)

Now see, I disagree. When I saw this challenge topic I immediately thought, "What the heck?" (I don't use the F word even with asterisks after it and in this context). But I came up with something and I thought "what the heck" and I threw it in. Just went through the entries. Wonderful ideas and great variety and narry a one where I would say for sure "shoehorn". Are they great photos? IMO not really. Is this a terrific challenge to look through if for nothing but the ingenuity and variety of interpretations? Heck yes :)

I'll grant you that (minus your refusal to use the f word), but it's subject to a very broad interpretation - both by the entrants and the voters. I shouldn't have used the word hate - it's not accurate. I don't care for it, but I do enjoy the variety and happily accept the bad with the good. :)

A creative topic like that should be right up your alley.

Oh I did get out my shoehorn at the last minute and it's currently nursing a 6.0. I just have no investment in it or attachment to it.

There are some creative entries, though - shoehorned or not. I just felt like griping about anything this evening. ;-)

The topic of "Toothpick" does not appeal to me for a photo challenge during a beautiful season of the year.

Well, Richard, it's winter over half of the globe right now... Gives them all something to do indoors :-)

Tooth picks? I guess I am not very creative but have to agree I don't find tooth picks inspiring at all. I am sure someone out there will find a way to portray them creatively but it will not be me.

Surely you can find an elk or a mountain goat willing to pose with a toothpick in it's mouth? ;-)

The only thing you need to stop the DNMC Nazis in this challenge is to have a toothpick in the photo. Seems a lot easier to shoehorn a beautiful mountainscape in this challenge than if the topic was... say... "Washing Machine" :)

Sure, take 4 toothpicks make a picture frame out of them and set it up in front of a nice landscape. Ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaa..............

Instant shoehorn!

Even better use them to frame an actual shoehorn.

It's okay. It doesn't matter anymore.

Art's suffering from Zip Loc.

It really should be Zipper® — the truly generic term is "slide fastener" ...
