Maybe some new minimal rule set challenges are on the way? In the meantime, I thought a side challenge would be fun way to experiment with this technique. The idea is to get it right in the camera. Cropping and rotating might be allowed but these exceptions are still being discussed.

Proposed Modification/Renaming of Challenge Rules

Capture an image in JPG format, resize for DPC, and post. How hard can that be?

Update: April 21, 2016

In the spirit of DPC, please feel free to edit images using the Minimal Editing Rules. It might be helpful to post a description, in the comments section, explaining how you edited your image.

For now, I think we just do it all in camera. No additional rules but suggestions are welcome.

Do you have to sign up or just post when you can? I would like to, but it may be intermittent.

No need to sign up and feel free to post as often as you like. Don't forget to comment too.

Looks like it may just be the three of us at this time.

Yes, and as I don't have time to shoot right now, mine are all old pre-existing minimal images.

I'll post if I have something, but I've given up on officially signing up for these because something always interferes with regular participation. :-(

It's a bit tricky, too, given that we have an official Minimal challenge going on right now ... make sure you're not posting something which could be construed as an "outtake" for that for the next few days ...

i actually decided to detour to the lake, and shoot the sunset this evening on the way home from work.

How do you feel about non-member participation?

I would be linking to off-site image hosting and understand if the answer is no.

When you do this, try to make the image displayed in the forums no wider than 500 pixels or so. If necessary, you can create your own thumbnail image to use as a link placeholder.

FWIW I use pBase for my off-site posting -- they have a very easy method for doing this.
