Currently comfortable with Lr and Ps CC.

Along comes On1 Photo Raw 2017. This looks promising, even though it's not quite there, yet. I do like the way it handles files better than Lr CC. And, it may be a faster RAW processor. Missing features are promised in upcoming releases.

So, I am currently testing the 30 day free trial. It does require more computer "horsepower", but I'm more than okay with the specs.

Anyone else tempted to explore?

I watched the short overview on their website. The user interface looks very Lightroomesque, and that's not a bad thing. I'm interested to know what you see as being handled better as far as develop functions... I'm always looking for the top-performing application. One function of Lr that I would find it hard to give up is the library management, and from what I'm seeing, Photo Raw is pretty minimal in that regard. I'd be tempted to give the trial a run, but I'd be worried about its interaction with Lr for existing images. Any comments as to how they play together?

I'm using it. I signed up to buy it and prepaid quite a while ago, so got it pretty cheap. I currently use it from within LR; that is, I continue to sort my images in LR libraries etc, but when I want to process one I can right-click on it and tell it to use On1 Develop Module. I like On1 quite a lot, it's more flexible in the preset area and it has some interesting features, plus it dovetails seamlessly with On1 Effects etc. When it's all done, the result saves back to the LR ctalogue as a PSD file, and I'm good to go in my normal workflow in PSCC. On1, however, is giving me more images that are good-to-go except for resizing in CC than LR ever has...

Thanks for sharing. Never heard of it before, but perhaps I go for the free trial

I have trouble with Lr catalogs. I have missing photos, according to Lr. I know I can fix this, and I've tried. The catalog problems persist. It appeals to me to have a more straightforward file and folder system which can be stored in various places and accessed from various computers. On1 does provide a rational file management system.

Specific lens correction is a promised feature to be added by on1. It's not there yet. It's an essential Lr feature to me.

Yes, that's true. I'm still running my images that need lens correction through LR first specifically for that, then I open them in On1.
