This year it is 10 years ago that we had the last of the great European GTG's in Münster, Germany.
Epic workshops and parties. Would love to do that again in a few years time. European GTG reunion. Relax, drink, smoke, eat and take stupid pics of alcoholic beverages.

Half of all people I know from the past have been busy with kids and family, relocating, new dogs, new relations and businesses. See most of them daily on FB and Instagram or once in a while IRL.
After my last Nikon body failed (broken AF sensor) I just sold old my stuff. House and family, as well as joining the local firefighting squad takes up a lot of my time.

Lots of ancient names trickling in. :)

I don't think I mentioned this and hadn't seen a post about it, but if anyone remembers Andy Pollard ( awpollard) - he hasn't been around DPC for over 6 years, but I was friends with him on facebook. He passed away last year. He was 56. :( He lived in San Diego, so some of you may have met him. I remember participating in lots of fun side challenges with Andy. He was an outstanding photographer and one of several well respected Marines here at DPC. Sorry for throwing a black cloud in this otherwise joyful reunion, but I thought some of the old timers would want to know.

Shout out to Azrifel, alfresco and Wazz! Glad to "see" you guys back.

Sad to hear about Andy :(

Haven't had a chance to say it yet to all the "old timers" here because I've been too busy to be here lately myself...but welcome back!

I used to attend the San Diego DSLR group shoots when I lived there (up until five years ago). Andy was a great guy with a quirky perspective in many of his photos. It was Andy who first told me about DPChallenge and encouraged me to check it out. Thanks, Art, for posting the link. I'd lost touch and wasn't aware of his passing. Quite a loss.

What ever happened to Kiwiness ? He was so active for so long - then just dropped off the radar completely.

Sport, dog, new girlfriend, moved towns, new interests.

Really !! Or are you guessing ? I thought photography was built into his everyday life.

Last I heard he was full-tilt pro. Once you go pro, personal photography tends to be a very low priority, or life will be 100% photography. This is something I know for a fact :-) Of course, I don't know what he's doing exactly now...

Really.
And not full pro. His girl went full pro.

I'm lurking around but being VERY selective of what open challenges I enter.

It has been several years since I participated myself. Judging by my recent entries, I should have stayed away longer :).

Hey, Dave! Long time no see! As you'll notice, we gave Art a hall pass, but do bear in mind he's on probation :-)
