Not happy that this guy is in my place. Well "was" in my place. My sandal was a pretty good hammer to kill this thing. Luckily I'm not creeped out by spiders so there's that at least.

So what kinda spider is this?

Have you seen this? I kinda want one but too many kids in my house to be trusted having it around.

Not sure it's a good idea to be spraying salt all over the house, but it does leave the prey pre-seasoned and ready-to-eat ... ;-)

Yeah in the video he is outside his trailer or something. Seems like it might be a hit at our block party this year LOL

ROFL, I've discovered that my local Cabelas has the Bugasalt in stock! It looks like I will be going hunting this evening!

I'm now the proud owner of a Bugasalt... in Pink Camo, LOL!
I've loaded and tested it, it is deadly to flies, small spiders, and the like. Pattern is about 2.5 inches in diameter at 3 feet. Wouldn't you know, I actually had a lot of trouble finding a fly. Couldn't even find one on the dog poop in the yard, LOL.

Yup. Darn flies are smarter than they look!
I've already got plans for a modification to tighten the pattern on this thing, hopefully increasing the "kill range."

It looks like a Huntsman spider! I wished I had Spider vising my home, I had to go to the forest to look for them!
Feel free to browse my album. Please just don't kill them :)

100% sure it's a Huntsman spider
We have them in Taiwan, they are really harmless. They can run incredibly fast.
They grow bigger than a human hand.
I took a picture not so long time ago and add it into a challenge picture.

I agree it does look a lot like a huntsman spider. I live in Brisbane, Australia, and huntsmen are very common around here.
My in-laws used to have "Fred" for many years. He was HUGE, and lived behind a fabric wall-hanging in their hallway.
Huntsman CAN bite (no venom!), but you'd have to trap him, tease him, scare him, hurt him, etc...... they do NOT want to hurt you if they can possibly help it.

I have spotted several huntsmen our house. I just leave them alone, and I almost never see them again. If they bothered me for some reason, I'd use the drinking glass/piece of cardboard method to send them back outside.

I would never, ever kill them because they didn't hurt us in the first place, and I love the idea that they eat the bugs that bite us!!

Pretty please try hard to overcome your phobia....... spiders are super useful, and very few of them are an actual danger to us (most of those types live in Australia).

The Huntsman Spider is most notable for "crab-like" orientation of legs, which I don's see in the OP's photo. Overall size is small for a Huntsman, which could mean it's a younger spider. It's true the Huntsman spiders have spread around the tropical world. ID chart. I guess we would need a closer photo to determine species.

Shouldn't you have an inborn fear of spiders? I've seen them way beetles, you know... ;)
