Looking to travel more... My GF and I are on a quest to travel as much as humanly possible. We want to take short weekend trips anywhere we can but there's a catch... We want to do it for cheap. The biggest thing we find that hinders us from going is the price of the flights. Once we are there we tend to find cheap hotels and cheap things to do (hiking for example as it's free)...

I live in FL and we've gone to Buffalo and already booked our trip to New Orleans... Where should we go next?

How about looking at historical & natural sites along the lower East Coast, or Appalachians? Should be lots of stuff within reasonable driving distance.

I wouldn't mind driving if it wasn't 5+ hours just to get out of the state. We would like to fly anywhere we go.

Flights to Vegas tend to be very cheap. From there, rent a car and there's lots of stuff within a few hours. Red rocks, Hoover Dam, Mojave Desert, Death Valley, Eastern Sierras, Grand Canyon... the list goes on.

I read the thread title as "Cheap Trick Suggestions", assumed it was someone looking for Halloween thrills on a budget.

On-topic, I'm seeing $99 flights advertised right now for Norway and Ireland...

I'd love this but the problem is, these type of trips are gonna have to wait a little bit since we both started new jobs not long ago and can't ask off for vacation yet. We are looking for weekend trips. Someone in the states or even the Carribean wouldn't be a bad option either.

FLYING for a weekend trip seems sort of irrational though... doesn't leave a lot of time...

Maybe rent a plane or helicopter and do some (relatively local) aerial photography?

Don't know what flights will cost you, but your money will go farther in Canada.
