I really did try to look this up online but couldn’t find anything online

I am going to Iceland tomorrow, and I will be storing my SD cards in a designated pouch in my camera bag. However, I will need to fit more than one card in the same pouch. They’ll be pressed up against each other snugly. Will this cause problems? Like if a magnet is near a hard drive or something, one will delete the other? I have no idea how this stuff works.

Unless they're smooshed up against each other so firmly that the plastic breaks, you'll be fine :)

Probably even safer that way...the damage I've seen to SD cards happens from 1) being flexed (I think) so they come apart, or 2) from the little write protect tab falling out and getting lost.

So the "stack" would be even stronger and less likely to flex.

No, they are not sensitive to magnetic forces.

Too late for you to get one now, but I bought this before my Iceland trip and love it. It has slots for 9 cards and 18 if you double up!

Also, you can reverse them (face down) when used so it helps keep track.

Enjoy Iceland...we had a blast!

I've heard tell of images escaping one SD Card and stowing away on another due to proximity. One even jumped to three different ones and then to a nearby USB drive. From there, once inserted into a laptop, the image escaped to the internet and has never been recovered. Although legend has it that people have seen it popup in a google image search occasionally and randomly.

None of that being true, you should have no worries and an awesome adventure in Iceland. :)

This article suggests that your cards can probably handle considerable rough handling, though I don't know if they, like the old Smart Media cards, would survive the "nailed to a tree" test ...

My camera uses both SD & CF cards and I've done the international thing, jam all my sh*t into the bag with multiple cards in the pockets/compartments with never an issue. None of the little cases came oppen, they went through x-rays & scanners with no problems.
