What are all of your collective thoughts about Watermarking images on your on line portfolio? I actually like mysnappy Photologo bespoke watermark, but I've read some discussions and seen some YouTubes about leaving watermarks off your portfolio.

Thoughts?

I hate them except when subtle.

This is a good discussion. I do not like using watermarks. They are a terrible distraction, but I use them anyway. I have had pictures stolen, several from DPC. It's very discouraging to find that others are taking credit for your efforts and creativity. I would use google images and find my picture being used by trade magazines, newsletters, others on Facebook, etc, etc. Many of them from foreign countries and no way to get them to stop. I reported them to Google but that did not help a great deal. It would be a full time job to try to monitor and act upon ones own stolen images. Watermarking is definitely not the cure but only a small deterrent to stolen images. I would like to hear others opinions.
