If you're going to use "stolen" photos, I think I'd use someone's family snapshots and not portraits of famous people ... how hard can it be to take really blurry portraits anyway?

The question is, why/how do these scoundrels manage to get these commissions, and legit photographers don't...

I think you first need to perfect the talent of lying convincingly to potential clients. In LA you have a plethora of choices of acting classes or law schools ...

I read about it a couple of weeks ago as well. It was in the local news because the same 'artist' just got commissioned (for 200K) to do a similar installation in Ottawa. Local artist's are not impressed as this occurred after the debacle in Calgary.
