There's no reason why teams can't have unequal numbers of members, up to a point anyway. But everyone needs to have at least 5. Remember, only the top two scores count in a given week, and the counting scores need to come from two different team members. |

At the moment there are 39 people in the Free Agent pool, and we need another 48 to make the unfinalised teams up to 5 members and to create teams to make the required 24 - a shortfall of 9. Of the finalised teams, 5 have 7 members, 4 have 6 and the remaining three have 5 each. So unless we can encourage some new recruits to the league it seems to me it will be necessary to cap teams at 5 or 6. |

Query: I removed myself from consideration as a player in DPL because I'm involved in administering it, and that seemed like a good idea. So, my question is, if we're sc raping the barrel for players, how do people feel about my filling in if it comes down to the wire? |

Question. When someone is invited from the free agent pool but before he or she accepts, does his or her name still show in the pool? |

No integrity problem here, Robert . . . but I have a feeling you are going to have your hands full. |

Of the many honorable folk I have met through this site, you would be the last I would think might skew things so your team might get an edge. Short answer, Fill in and play, you have more than earned the trust of the community. |

So I understand this, what you're effectively saying is that provided we can get 24 teams of 5, any teams currently with 6 or 7 need not worry about losing anyone currently committed. Do I have that?
If so, then the 13 teams currently finalized are fine provided that 11 more teams can be made from the available players - requiring a minimum of 55 participants. The 5 partial teams are comprised of 10 players and there are 38 in the pool for a total of 48, making us only 7 players short of the minimum number required to fill the field without monkeying with the current finalized teams. Certainly not a daunting task.
As for your participation, having been both a participant and organizer of various fantasy baseball and football leagues over the decades I see no reason why those running things should not be allowed to participate. You did last time, IIRC.
As for the "only the top two scores count" part of your post, are you saying that only two scores count per week, or two scores from each challenge, and across the two challenges the same person can not be in the top two for each, and if so then the higher of their 2 scores is counted and the next person in line is counted in the other challenge? I think that's how it worked. (Note: Just found #4 in the FAQ - no need to reply on the scoring)

Most certainly, everyone should have a chance to play!

I think one person unevenness is fine. I do think that five member teams would be at a serious disadvantage against seven member teams, especially considering that most of the larger teams were created first . . . presumably with many of the most currently active and enthusiastic members. |

I don't disagree, though the 7 person teams last time were able to add up to 2 people - but when you need 4 scores per team each week having 3 you don't need is a distinct advantage over only 1. That said, I do believe it's possible to start with the minimum and add after the season starts, particularly as people wander in and see what's going on ask if they can still join.
But we still have 2 weeks to get numbers up so I suspect that this may be moot by then. |

Yes, as soon as you accept the invite your name is removed from the free agent pool. That's what happened to me. |
