I'm not much of a movie-goer. But last weekend I went with my son and his girlfriend to see Mr. Bean's Holiday. First, I was appalled at the price of the Popcorn, Soda's and other Snacks - WTH! Anyway, the movie, I thought was hilarious and well worth the money. If you don't like English Humor, you might not like the movie. It was sort of along the lines of Monty Python meets Police Academy - very silly indeed. But, there was no vulgarity, sex, alcohol or violence. I was surprised to find a movie with these qualities and an actor that says about 10 words throughout the entire movie! It was a great family movie suitable for kids - I think...

In theaters, I saw the remake of Halloween which I would give a 1. Rob Zombie should be ashamed of himself for ruining one of the greatest horror films of all time.

On DVD I saw a movie called The Big White. I'd give that an 8.
I also saw Breach, which I'd also give an 8.

Really? I had trouble even getting through this one, and Ed Norton is definitely one of my favorite actors. Ill agree that it had its moments and the ending, somewhat anticipated, through me off a little, but I dont think I could give it a 9/10, I would have to go right around a 5. Not terrible, not great. A c- maybe.

Both movies about magicians. Both excellent. I just liked The Illusionist better.

The Prestige was my favorite of the two, probably because Nikola Tesla was in it.

My last film viewed was Apocalypto a few weeks ago, I give it a 9/10.

Keeping Mum - British DARK comedy with Rowan Atkinson, Maggie Smith, and others... Lots of foul language and sexual themes. A very few funny parts, but interesting turn from Atkinson. 4/10.

Dead Man's Shoes (2006) Shane Meadows - A disaffected soldier returns to his hometown to get even with the thugs who brutalized his mentally-challenged brother - 8/10

In Bruges 7.8/10

Somewhat ponderous but witty and some great acting. Suffers a bit from being mostly cast by ex-Harry Potter actors.

Pursuit of Happiness...... 10/10

I finally saw this movie and Will Smith and especially his son was amazing in it. For his first movie his son is an amazing actor....

Crank 6.5/10....with Jason Statham

lol Jason Statham and this movie is just crazy.... high speed adrenaline movie all the way through... just one very crazy funny action movie. Not really a huge plot so not a great one but just very entertaining to watch.

Little Miss Sunshine 10/10

Utterly wonderful.

Volver 7/10

Beguiling tale infused with Almodovar's trademark flair for depicting complex relationships between women. The ending is perhaps a little abrupt but well acted.

This Gun for Hire, 7/10, 1942, based on Graham Greene's novel, A Gun for Sale. The basic themes of betrayal and revenge remained intact but Alan Ladd as Raven and California instead of Great Britian?

Bucket List-10/10

HOWEVER........ if you're not a 50 plus guy, it may not necessarily do much for you.

You have to have lived, and lived large, for a while to really appreciate this film.

Shooter 9/10.

I didn't hear much about this movie when it was out at the theaters but I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Even my wife thought it was great and this is definitely not her type of movie.
