For those in DPC who march to the beat of a different drummer, how about a challenge
featuring the likes of Jean Sibelius, or even the Three Bs (Bach, Beethoven & Brahms)
It would be fascinating to see the interpretation, in pictures, of classical music.

Now that would be an awesome challenge - either specific or as a genre in general. Wow - my mind is flooding with ideas. |

Now then, Jean Sibelius would certainly whet my appetite! May be able to find something for that. |

Certainly prejudiced in favour, and yes, the mind spins. Bach would apply to some select styles here - unfortunately not mine, but certainly pineapple's, and salmiakki has already got some Sibelius. I'd like to try Poulenc, Satie or Debussy.
Will this go over? Or maybe a side challenge? |

I could have a whole lot of fun interpreting Debussy with my Lens Baby

I can see a beautiful interpretation of his "La Mer" with that lens! |

Heh, heh. Yes, I think you might find something. Maybe "Finlandia?"

Coincidence - I'm conducting Sibelius' Fifth Symphony on Saturday!
It did occur to me that it would be nice to see DPC venturing into the classical world. Schubert would be a good option with the myriad of lieder he wrote... |

Good idea, really, having a Classical music-themed challenge. I think the only Led Zeppelin song I've ever listened to is "Stairway to Heaven". |

Well, we just completed another 'popular' Challenge in the popular musical artist, Billy Joel.
So, it seems like time to re-propose a challenge that would be a real Challenge.
Say, Jean Sibelius, or other classical musicians.
Or, to make it simple:
Enter an image that is inspired by classical music.
We've never had one. Nope, never.
And this is a very old thread that I am resurrecting
for the occasion.
Every 7 years or so isn't nagging, is it? |

Saint-Saens could have a challenge all to himself. Carnivals and orgies! |

This year in Finland, they are celebrating 150 years since the birth of Sibelius. |

Indeed! I may even dust off a lens and charge my batteries for this :) |

Speaking of classical composers, I just developed and scanned my film with pictures of composer Philip Glass. It only took me a year!
