New items added: So Please Read:: This is also a TWEAKING THREAD, so we are bouncing some new ideas off each other too, please be patient, but also sign up !!

Teams will be based on what COUNTRY you are born in. For example, if you were born in United States you will be automatically placed on the USA team. 1 TEAM MEMBER CAN BE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW; (Just to add a little difference to it)

- Each team must have at least 5 people and at most 8. The members will be selected on a first come first serve basis. The first 8 people who post on this forum saying they would like to participate fills the spot. If you are unable to retrieve at least 5 people for your team/country, then you will not be able to participate (saves us having teams of 3. (((((unless it is Iceland, they can have a team of 2 ) (even out the odds hehehehehhe)(teasing Iceland):(

- Since both members and non-members may join this tournament, the challenges will be Exclusive Open Challenges

- During the challenge you must have at MINIMUM OF 5 ENTRYS . The winning team will be based on the average score comprised of the participants in the challenge.

NO SUBSTITUTION PLAYERS

- First Challenge will be [b]JULY 1ST.

- Top 3 finishers will receive custom made avatars (they won't be fancy :P) But still fun.

If you wish to join, please also post which country you are representing. I will be updating this post with countries and their members :)

Rules
1. All teams must have at least 5 members enter the challenge. In addition the top 5 scores will be calculated under the weekly average for the team. I’ve decided to use the top 5 because this allows everyone to bring their “A” game to this tournament. Also, a lot of teams have 2-3 great players, and they can simply dominate the entire competition. This is a team effort, so 2 or 3 players shouldn’t be doing everything.

2. In terms of the point system, I’ve decided to adopt a simple one with giving a certain amount of points for the top 5 teams.
1st – 10
2nd – 6
3rd – 4
4th – 3
5th – 2

DIRTDIVER will be once again doing the scoring, so a HUGE thank you to you!!

3. The competition will be 8 weeks worth of challenges. The challenges will be
ONLY Exclusive Open Challenges, since some teams don’t have members that belong to DPC. The first challenge will be on JULY 1ST 2008.
.
3. After 8 weeks, the top 3 teams with the highest amount of points will receive medals that they can put up on their profile

4. As team captains, it is your job to inspire your teammates and make sure they participate every week or nearly every week.

5. To check out results of your team and the other teams, go to this link //www.treasureshackonline.com/DPC_Olympics.htm courtesy of Dirt_Diver

THE DATES OF THE CHALLENGES ARE:

JULY
1ST
8TH
15TH
22ND
29TH

AUGUST
5TH
12TH
19TH

Joe, DirtDiver will be in charge of the scoring system, all scoring system answers are now coming from him. (he is such a swee[u]theart[i]!)

Do you mean minimum of 5? Or do you mean if everyone participates we forfeit?

Will the scores of all participants be averaged, or just 5?

right now we have the top 4 scores, and 4 people have to enter to get that score. so this time it is the top 5 scores

I personally would have wanted to play but those dates coincide with my summer vacation so I´ll pass this round, maybe for the III version, best of luck and have fun dudes and dudettes.

Your wording indicates a maximum of 5 and it indicates that we forfeit if more participate. Also, that all participants scores count rather than just 5.

Not picking at this, just trying to get things clear so there are no disputes later.

Well, there is nobody in our team living in poland so that blows us out then right?

OK just had a re-read, we are still good to go...

No I mean that one person can be from anywhere in the world on your team, do not have to be from POLAND

Why are you shouting?.. I got it now so calm down a bit maam.

CP, my bad wording was wrong, changed wording

the scoring is going to be exactly the same as it is in this round, bar the fact that there are now 8 people on a Team and 5 have to participate in each challenge.

if 5 do not participte then it will be reflected in your scores and you will not get as higher score overall, so more people more chance of winning
04/08/2008 10:46:29 AM · #13
lol, sorry, forgot that meant shouting, I should have used bold instead
04/08/2008 10:46:58 AM · #14
I never did like the whole where you live thing though. We should have a draft that would allow teams to pick people based on personal average. It would eliminate bully teams and would be very interesting to see how it plays out.

So....

Less than 5 entries - score = 0

5 or more entries - average of all scores

Right?

As Larus pointed out , I think this time a lot of people are going to be on vacation, so we could have a complete mix up in the teams.

I think if we where able to pick just anyone and everyone for our teams, we would have people scrambling to get all the ribbon winners to join their teams.

so on that note, if only having one person from anywhere around the world joining, then it is a little fairer????

and we also have those teams that do not really have a country, so we can have teams of 8 for say like the Tropical Islands !
04/08/2008 10:50:28 AM · #17
May I also suggest that you keep the teams to 8. That makes the calculations easier as well. For some reason excel will only allow up to 8 formulas in one cell. That is why I have 2 cells that show winners for all teams. It's a bit of a pain.

Joe, side note: Does having 8 team members and no substitutes allowed to be brought in work better for you. That way if people drop out, it just shows a 0 on their score and you do not have to rewrite the code every time.

04/08/2008 10:53:48 AM · #20
CP, the way it is set up on the score board right now, the teams with the highest scores are getting teh points.

but after Joe got a request, he kindly showed everyones overall team scores. So it went from the top 1 to the bottom team.
04/08/2008 10:54:34 AM · #21
Yep teams of 8

yes that would work just fine. If you wanted you could even go with more people on each team.
04/08/2008 10:55:58 AM · #23
So I can add 1 team member who is not connected in any way to poland and that is fine yeh?
04/08/2008 10:56:41 AM · #24
OKAY, hold on, Joe has a thought on the scoring system:

I am going to leave the scoring system up to Joe DirtDiver as he is the one that has to do all the work.

So IGNORE anything I have said on the scoring system LOL

Joe, you are now in charge! Thanks for volunteering hehheehe
