I like to start another thread, where we can visit weekly, to add ONE of our DPC favorite photographer of the WEEK.

It will be in your hands to pick someone, a favorite photographer that you admire, and tell us why, and add some of your favorite images from their portfolio, that you like, here in this thread.

I will start with one for the first week of July 2008.

My first pick will be Roz and for the second week of July SandyP

PLEASE add your weekly favorite photographer to this list.

It might be a nice gesture, to let the person you chose, about this thread.

Roz - 1st-7th July

What an amazing photographer, who really goes out and beyond the normal with processing, but her images are totally unique, and so brilliantly done. I also admire her for helping anyone in need, as she shares her processing with so many. She also contributes to the DPC community and makes many comments. I have meet Roz, and she is one of my best DPC friends.

SandyP - 8th-14th July

Sandy SandyP is one in a million, and the most delightful and caring person, here at DPC. Her photography is amazing, as she loves 'wildlife', the 'animals' from a zoo, 'birds' and the 'pets' around her. She also loves taking 'candids', and does them extremely well. I also love here 'portraits' and all the wonderful 'landscapes' she has in her portfolio. A true friend to all, and I share her passion of photography and family, as thats is what is important to her.

Shez!! I am so humbled that you would do such a thing! THANK YOU SO MUCH! And I've already told Roz that she is my Macro Hero, mentor and inspiration, so following her definitely fluffs up my tail feathers :)

I'm just jealous that you and she have met and I never have had that pleasure :) But I've talked to you on the phone, and I've listened to Roz's beautiful Australian voice on a podcast thingy, so that is the next best thing :)

I love you guys!!!

My favorite photographer of the week is mad_brewer. Actually he'd be more like favorite of the year. Not only is he a fantastic photographer, he has taken a lot of his time to help me out and has educated me on quite a few things about my own photograpy.

I was a little concerned that no one was interested in this thread, but I was so warmed to see these added here this morning, as they are wonderful choices to add to our favorite photographer of the week.

I feel there are some amazing photographers here at DPC, and not always ribbon winners. They may be your favorite for many different reasons, but it would be nice to see them here, for us all to enjoy.

Please add your favorite photographer here, any time you wish.

My favorite of the week (and of all time, really) is pointandshoot. His artistic vision and interpretation of the challenge topics is always interesting, and his photoshop skills are extraordinary.

Anyway, anyone who can do with celery deserves my accolades.

My pick for photographer of the week is bassbone. Peter is a great photographer, that has a wonderful portfolio of images. Not only is he a great photographer, he is a great helper to the newer people here on DPC and also a good mentor, friend and person. I will pick him as my choice for the week.

Two of my favorite photographers of all time are GSal and Lesley Goodman for their photos of African people and Lesley's elephant photos. Their photography inspires me and makes my heart hurt (in a good way):

Ok. . . I have to stop or her whole portfolio will be here in thumbs :)

Ivory, She is not afraid to make things look the way she wants them to look with color and dodge and burn. Even though some of her images seem a bit wonky in color or overprocessed, I like that because it brings out the soul of the image in some of her wild sky and weather landscape shots. Many of her people and animal shots are a treat as well.

There are many, many, many brilliant photographers here. I love finding those hidden gems - the ones who probably haven't ribboned and don't get the stellar scores, but are creative and artistic beyond belief. Recently FrostyPaws bleeped on my radar. I'm in awe of her moody, low-key, atmospheric flower shots.

My week 2 favorite photographer is Jutilda, who can make the most ordinary thing into a stunning piece of art. A constant inspiration.

I could go on and on...
