I think it's because the kid shares the same name as the white guy that died today.

Art's genius shines through ... at last. ;-)

Jokes aside-- If I was a betting man on all this deaths come in 3's Theory--

I woulda gone all in on Patrick Swayze-- how in the hell did he out live MJ?

Simms! Given that a man has died, do we need that strange image with the tasteless caption? Rather than remove it for you, I am hoping you can edit your post yourself.

I think you are really tasteless Simms, I am pretty shocked at some of you and I am no prude either!

I was getting text message 'jokes' even while the story was unfolding. tbh, I found it a bit annoying, because whatever about the controversy, I was a big fan of MJ when I was a teenager and in my 20s.

Besides, most of these MJ 'jokes' are old.

just a reminder that MJ had nto always been the monster (some) of the public perceived him to be.
i may not be from the era, but i have respect for that man, for his contribution to the music industry.
he's dead, and that's a sad thing.

BBC News are reporting that the 'Robbery and Homicide' team are investigating his death, but no suggestion of foul play.

a fan of his early work and certainly appreciate his contribution to the industry, but I guess i'm in the minority in that I can't totally separate the artist from the art. For me, the bizarre (for lack of a better word) nature of his later life kind of soiled what he contributed.

Because of the high profile, that's why they brought in that investigative team. Wondering what the autopsy will show. It's like we are surprised but not that shocked.

I remember when we'd get the schedule when Thriller was going to be shown on MTV and groups of us would gather at people's homes to watch it. MTV has come (or gone) a long way.

A report in Britain's The Sun newspaper, citing a UCLA Medical Center source, claims that Jackson received an injection of Demerol -- a drug similar to morphine -- shortly before the incident and began breathing very shallow shortly after. A photo of a police 911 computer purportedly from a call related to Jackson says the subject was "not breathing at all."

Why would be be taking Demerol? Hmmmm Images of Elvis on the toilet are coming to mind.

i think you're right on this one. there's an unconfirmed (lack of evidence) RUMOUR that some old folk's home practise some despicable way of making old folks die before their time. it is easy to kill someone and get away with it when you're in the trade, and given the trust by the patient.

This still isn't really sinking in with me. The more news sites I click on the weirder I'm feeling.

I think I've overloaded on MJ news articles and rumours tonight... time for bed :)

this might be in bad taste but... this is ridiculous the guy was a child molester straight up. I know he was never convicted, but the guy did it people. Accused a number of times, and settled out of court I think twice costing millions of dollars. There's no way this guy was innocent and only got away with it because of his wealth. And I find it disgusting that the mass media puts this mans death as more important then the crap going down in Iran.

He leaves us a great music legacy and I'm sad there won't be any more. I grew up on his music and I will miss him.

So I ran some errands tonite...I left the radio on in the kitchen which I never do...When I got home from the market, I went into the kitchen and Thriller was playing...Hearing the song instantly cheered me as I put the groceries away...when the song was over they said that Michael Jackson had died...I couldn't believe it...I grew up on his music as well.

RIP his music legacy will never be forgotten...his personal life however....

This would explain why his personal doctor was right there the whole time!

This is what I would term highly credible information... Sheesh. Glad I don't have a TV. (Well I do, but I don't turn it on, and it's all in German or Spanish or French or Arabic...)

Agreed. Either the pedophile thing carries no weight in this case or people are electing not to remember him that way. Personally, I found watching his career a wickedly painful experience after Thriller. He certainly made the slickest videos and I enjoyed watching them but the rest of his story was seriously creepy...start to finish.

I'd bet the 24/7 news execs jumped for joy when they heard of his death. For FOX, CNN, and MSNBC this story is a big juicy dog bone that they will run dry.
