I have been really enjoying the Fine Arts challenge and I have noticed on my 3rd and 4th and so on passes though I am getting more out of many of the entries and many have received a bump up from my original vote. I am trying to go through and comment on at least my top picks (8-10's) and my sub 4 votes and have noticed that the more I take time to look again and again the more I admire some of these entries.

I think this challenge in particular is one where the voters really should take a few extra passes though and re-evaluate the scores give.

could not agree with you more!

Yes, I am also going thru the entries again & changing my vote on many of them & writing some comments. Everything seems to look different the 2nd time around.

I'll revise my votes and comments this weekend when I am viewing them through beer goggles.

Of course I agree, but I would say that there are plenty of images that wouldn't look out of place in this challenge in every challenge - I wonder if any of these voting habits will rub off a little on other challenges?

Thanks for taking the extra time! Too bad mine is in your sub 4 category. I really do appreciate the time and comment.

Well looking at your previous scores and posthumous and other ribbons I wouldn't worry too much :)

Yeah..I think I'll start with the ones I voted lowest and work my way backwards.

Agreed a longer look, another look or a careful study:-). Just gave myself a break from work and work and work to go through and vote. Having taught at a 'Past Masters' art program I can say that I saw quite alot that I could see hanging in galleries and on home walls. I really wish I had had time to garner an entry into this challenge myself.

Stats: You have rated 76 of 189 images (40%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.5789.

Maybe, hopefully, if I get more time I could drop a few comments.

You're such an Art/beer snob! :P

I have to say that none of the images I have come across look like Art. :)

You know, I was rather hoping that myself. It will be interesting to see what happens. May encourage more of us to enter things a little bit more daring in the future.

That's certainly what Pawdrix was hoping for when he pushed this challenge, and what I suspect quite a few of us are hoping for :-)

I think the idea needs to be revisited a few times over in a variety of forms without too much of a time lapse for the ideals to take hold. If it's "one shot"...it's just that..."one shot"

Keep in mind the Challenge suggestion has led to numerous, multi-page threads, the Challenge itself, the introduction of a Jury operating in real time...all very exciting and refreshing things. Apparently from all the discussions, it's led to many people re-thinking or thinking in new and different ways which is quite cool. Folks seem to be challenging old notions, examining their work, their process, the meaning in what they do etc. In short, it's all a nice break from imagery that I saw becoming stagnant and formula and it needs to be continually renewed or things things will revert to the same old, same old. My guess is based on the reaction it's something the site has been yearning for

Perhaps another Three Techniques Challenge but with fewer techniques as an option. Say 5 perhaps...B&W, Blur, Tilt, Sqaure Crop, Duotone?

Here's a good one..."Three Technique Rule Breakers" Now, that'd be fun!

I missed the first period in your title.

Was quite confused.

*grin*

But, I agree... the F.Arts grow on a person... I'm off to take a second look.

jminso I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to revisit the entries. I am presently scoring very low in this challenge and this is not a big surprise to me at all. I didn't expect much in the way of a score but, the comment you left made it all worth it.

Thank you!

You are up there with the adventurous folk so far as pushing the limit with your entries of an arty type in the regular challenges. Thank you. Please continue. And btw, I have noticed that you've been doing quite well regardless!!

You have rated 188 of 188 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 62 images (33%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.9309.

My average vote was around a 5.4 or 5.5 before I started commenting. May get up to over a 6 before I am done.
