yes, hiho and instps, the pinhole is MOST thought provoking. I seem to be keeping all my shots, worthy or not, especially since I have no idea what worthy IS anymore. Took my big lens downtown today and I must say it was a little boring. How do we so easily fall into thinking that our expensive lenses render visual reality, when in fact it is an almost frightening mathematical construct?

+1

Mae, I've found pinhole photography rewarding but frustrating. So you are not alone in wondering why shots are not turning out as you expect. Many shots that I try are just to dark to work with. Pinhole photography is attractive because it's a new approach and presents a different way of looking at things. I hope you stick with it and there is enough interest to keep this thread alive. Take care

Henry, thank you for the encouragement...::beams:: I don't mean to sound too discouraged. My field trip today to the Disney Hall and LA Union Station was fun! This type of photography takes much more thought about shape, contrast, and color. But, primarily, I find myself hunting more for distinctive/contrasty light source environments. I feel a little silly writing this post...but that's how my mind is rolling at the moment...;-)

Well, I took my pinhole camera out on a field trip today. Gosh...I think the hole in this cap is too small! My tinfoil "lens" seemed easier...hmph. Oh well, I will try to post something better than my first image later tonight.

I thought that you were doing great with the home-brew one. The shot of the girl with the hat and beads was impressive. The "sparklies" and the point of view made that one shine.
