Heck, I thought he was member of the DECADE :-)

Here's a couple, practically at random, that I love:

John may be the best B/W processor we have in DPC...

Love the energy in this one, and that you captured the boy while both feet were off the ground.

Thanks for you contributions to the site, John.

the adage of "a picture is worth a thousand words" can be said for everyone of his images.

What!? We're just now getting around to making this master Member of the Week?

I can't even begin to post my faves of his.

Great choice!

Yay! John is a fine-DPC-fellow-all-round-nice-guy and not just an outstanding photographer.

Such consistently high quality, with a signature look that doesn't exclude diversity - here are a few to illustrate just that:

All different, all John.

Thank you everybody, I'm humbled by all your kind words, DPC has become a great family and you all inspire me so much.
It feels good to be appreciated on your birthday, cheers.

Who?

I remember this photo being in voting like it was yesterday. It struck me, as I was in the challenge and thought I had something decent, but this was beyond decent and, more importantly, pretty damn interesting, clever, and turned the ordinary on its head. I got more involved in DPC around the same time he did and we, as expats from our native lands, lived in similar-looking towns; I thought, maybe, I had a kindred spirit.

Events since have proven he's a much better photographer than I am, and he doesn't answer his phone, return e-mails, or even answer his door, even in the middle of the night. But I still consider us very good friends.

His black and white work is wonderful; one of my favorite photogs on DPC.

Can I just link to all of John's works? Congratulations, simply perfection!

He's had a lot of success on this site without ever acting tyrannical or even bigheaded. I admire him very much for that. He has some damn good photos, too.

John, did you take some of your images out from your portfolio? I was looking for a shot taken in GB, a young man walking on the street that is mighty different from the cobblestones in Lot.
Anyway, a wonderful shot that had nothing to do with la douce France.

You are really doing the best documentary on Lot and the unknown south. Stir the waters and publish a book!
