I looked at it and enjoyed every single shot - espacially that lady raising her arm - and the dancers are really showing off! You captured the atmosphere and made me feel like I'm part of it because you were so close to the people. Very uplifting and inspiring to start the day in a good mood! Thank you!

I hope that there would be more interest in this SC.

Meanwhile, I'll post some collections of photos in my photo blog. I'll appreciate any comments and critiques in case you look at it:

Should we have another photo essay side challenge in May?

With the ongoing year-end challenges many have been looking through their 2017 photographs. Maybe some relationships or common threads were discovered so you’re well on your way to a photo essay. Or, like Don, just go shoot and write some poetry when the deadline is near. However you approach this genre, I hope you’ll join us in May.

7 essays posted, including a double dip by Clive. Better turnout than I expected. Thanks everybody

We're traveling so my comments will be delayed a few days.

My essay is ready to post.

I'm going to open the February photo essay posting forum tomorrow afternoon. This is a little early because I won't have internet access in the evening.

With one week to go, it's eerily quiet leading up to the photo essay posting date.

Marko, looking forward to your essay. It's time well spent.

A few more weeks to wrap up your essays. I'm having technical and conceptual issues. Hope to have something to share.

And what deeper meaning does there need to be than this incredibly poignant collection of images?

Thank you for this.

I know there is no call for posting new essays.

But I have a series of pictures that belong to the Christmas Season so I decided to show it here before everyone gets tired of jingling bells and blinking lights.

Every year in december a departement store in Munich downtown decorates its storefront in a special way:
There are only plush toys fromt he Steiff company which have a motor so they are moving in a cute way. In the winter scene there are teddy bears that are playing the trombone, hugging their teddy bear kids or reading a newspaper, little rabbits that are baking cookies or sweeping the pavement and a lot more...
It is a beloved tradition which attracts all that are passing by, young and old alike.

I know there is no deeper meaning in this collection except the joy and happiness and humour (please browse to end) of this special season, but that is the main reason why I wanted to show it to you.

You can watch it here:
Enjoy!

My family was complaining that I didn't prepare dinner, but I was too absorbed watching those essays

2018 will be here before we know it. Should we post January essays on the 1st, 15th, or 31st? With the holidays upon us a few extra days might be nice.

Lol. Would this be posted in January? Or shot in January and posted in Feb?

Shoot anytime, anything, and anywhere... We'll start posting January 1st. With many celebrating the holidays we can move the posting date to later in January or February 1.
