Ugh. I'm also slightly dyslexic. I meant tamrak.

When I was in the Air Force stationed in the U.K. in the late 80's, we had an MS-DOS users group on base. When a number of us rotated back to CONUS, we met in a chat room on AOL to keep in touch. We called it the "Yo Room". Everyone had a Yo name. Yo Doc, Yo Hec, Yo Terry, and I always liked the "Spaceman Spiff"character from Calvin & Hobbes, so "Yo Spiff" it was for me.

Though I have seen other variations to Spiff, Yo Spiff is always available on any forum I register with, so I have stuck with it. I sometimes have to make minor adjustments to it to accommodate username rules, such as needing the underscore here on DPC, because I can't use a space in a username.

Not "Tamrak"?

At one of my first jobs, we had to print our names on our timecards in a tiny little space at the top. The card required first name, middle initial and last name, all in caps. My first name is Karma and my middle initial was T. The manager's daughter, who was around 8 at the time looked at my card and asked her mom, "Is her name really KARMAT?" (prounounced like the mats in the floor of cars -- carmat). The manager started calling me karmat and now, 20 some odd years later it has still stuck.

Sometimes, for fun, I will invert it -- on Clash of Clans, I am tarmak.

Proud graduate of the University of Illinois in 1975. Always hoping they will win something before I die but not looking very likely. Although I also thought no one would see the name when I signed up.

Mine is kind of easy to figure out. It's an abbreviation of my first name: Marylou. Very boring I know, but easy for this "old lady" to remember LOL!

We had a lodge in Zambia in a place called Kasaba Bay (very beautiful but impossible to get to). Very simple, quite unimaginative from my side, but pretty unique as screen names go.

Back in the 90s I played a lot of Warcraft 2 and needed a nickname and I had Jordax at the time (misheard quote from a troll axethrower "D'you want axe?"). Playing other games (especially at LANs), I needed a new nickname, and a word popped into my head - Nicht. Wasn't sure why. Anyhow, when I registered here that was what I had and it was unique enough to use wherever I went. And it's short. Maybe I should have stuck to Jordax - I think I like that more, looking back. :D

Are you German speaking? Nicht means "not, or don't or isn't it" :-). In case you didn't know, now you do :-)

Iv'e already been jaded Gramma for a few years... Step Gramma, at least, which is an odd title. If my husband is grandpa, Ive earned the grandma title. So I just consider myself Grandma.

Congrats on Becoming SC.

If you have them posted elsewhere you are welcome put links to them here (I use pBase.com myself), though if they're actually at Facebook only FB members will be able to see them.

If you post images directly into the forums (using the [img][/img] tags) please keep them to no more than 500 pixels wide, otherwise please post a text link to the larger image.

Welcome back -- we have an especially "interesting" Open challenge this week (hint, hint ...) :-)

Thanks. They are actually at Facebook, I'll see if I can figure something out, but as I do everything on the IPad these days and it took me like 40 minutes to figure out how to update my profile photo... No promises.
Nice to see you're still here!

Even without the hitting and secrecy, I think run club still sounds harder. Lol, I'm sure I do enough binge watching for the both of us. I'm like a 93 year old trapped inside of a fat 35 year old. :). Enjoy your run! It was great talking to you!

I'm still old, getting older. Can't seem to help that. Took up some odd hobbies - I've done three half marathons, albeit very very slowly. They're kinda fun in a sick sorta way. I should take up binge watching TV series... much more age appropriate, yes? :-) Speaking of - tonight is run club. It's like fight club only we try NOT to hit each other and we're allowed to talk about it. Gotta ... run. Yes, that's it... :-)

I'm good. How are YOU?!?!
I do have recent pics of the kids. Nothing "good", just cell phone captured Facebook quality pics. I can't share them without being a member though, can I? Anyhow, the kids are good. Odin no longer fits in a flower pot, lol. He's going to be a teenager in less than two months. He's had a freakin' man voice and (starter) mustache for two years now and is starting to grow beard hair!! And I'm being a really embarrassing mom right now...lol. Odyssey is good too. She is well into her teens at this point. ::sigh::
But, again, how are YOU?

Oh my goodness! Crystal! How the heck are you? Pictures of the kiddos to share? Heck, they must be almost young adults now... sorta. Nice to see you again!!
07/08/2015 06:20:44 PM · #18
Well, used to be jaded_youth because I was/am jaded and THOUGHT I was youthful but then someone (Bear) on this site so lovingly pointed out that 'I was a mother, so how youthful can I be?' So I changed it to Housewife. Can't believe I still remember that. He said that in like 2007, it took me two years to actually go ahead and change my name after that. I deserve some kind of slacking award. But, that's the very boring story of my screen name.

My initials and my favorite number. It's my favorite number because I am the last of my parent's 13 children.

Mine is derived from my 1st e-mail address...... cowboy221977@aol.com (this address no longer exists)

the way I came up with that.....My nickname was cowboy when I was stationed at ft Hood texas because I wore a cowboy hat, wore the boots, and rode in the rodeo. It was a wild time. The 22 was how old I was when I got the address. Some people think that 1977 was chosen because of my birth year. Even though I was born in 1977 I chose it because I had a 1977 Jeep cj-5. I miss that jeep..
