This is so sad. He was just here saying he decided to trade paid time for free time and wanted to start enjoying his retirement of free time. May he rest in peace and my thoughts go out to his family. Thanks for letting us know Lydia.

We lost a great spirit.. I had the pleasure of being on two teams with Alex. He was a very noble gentleman and will be missed. Condolences to his family.

AMBaker an online friend of the first tier.
while I know we all must find our way to the next step,
I am grateful that Alex' way was quick and peaceful.
Alex you are in my thoughts with great appreciation.

This is really sad. After he posted the other day, and mentioned retirement, I had a look at his profile. Same age as me :-(
I'm glad he had decided not to keep working, and hope he really enjoyed what retirement he had.
Condolences to Sharon.

Sharon specifically asked me to post here and let you all know.

I know she knows of how much Alex loved DPC.

He told me so many times. :D

He spoke of his entries as... almost ... friends.

I love a guy who loves his photography.

*heavy sigh*

I can't believe it! It was just this week he popped back in to say hello! Perhaps in reality he was saying goodbye...

Wow... Very saddened to hear this. I haven't been around much but came back to participate in the last DPL and Alex was my teammate... He was a Great person, photographer and teammate who will most certainly be missed. My regards to his wife and his family.

Such sad news. If there's one positive, it sounds like he went without suffering.

Oh, that's devastating. And he just came "back" yesterday, brand new blue shirt, then *poof* :-( It makes no sense. Rest in peace, old buddy. We never met, but I sure wish we had :-(

Ah, that is terrible news. Alex had been around here about as long as I have. I will miss his contribution to our community.
