nothing personal but I'm not going to compete with t s Eliot! I did not write poems if I knew there already was a famous poem.

Don, you are very good at this. Thanks!

I'm thankful for Don's poetry
It made my life a dream
Until I met my score it seemed
it was Don upon my team.

Here's my daughter's poem for my funny image:

Funny Shop (written by my daughter)

To the funny shop at the end of the street
lying in shadows yet tidy and neat.

You offer mere hints of former glory
as though only the past may know your story.

Lights in the window are out for the last
dusted in remnants of bustle long past.

I can't stop from wishing you'd open your doors
'though if she'd still be there, she'd still be yours.

I'd hate for her efforts to not be seen.

:D She gave me the gift of a poem for my weird image. :D

I'll start, you add on.

There was am man we call posthumous
who trains us all through allogamous.
If poem-writ was an olympic sport
Don's in for gold with no effort.

If a “posthumous verse” you did get
Just relax and enjoy it -- don’t fret
It’s a phrase with a twist
Not the end of the list
As you’ve noticed Don hasn’t died yet

We are so grateful
For Don’s plateful
A big thank you is never enough
So have a happy day off.

What an unbelievable achievement! Thanks Don!

I've got a wonderful poem as a comment - if this was yours than you should consider to publish a poetry book

I took this to mean that we could take a photo that would make a good poem... and title the image with the title of the poem. The poem could be a famous work, or we could write our own poem... to include in the comments.

Was I wrong?

Does the poem have to be a famous poem?

You weren't wrong. You don't even have to write the poem at all. You can just do a picture and a title.

You only need to survive it as far as my entry...

Guess I'm out of synch
With what others think
Wanting to please others, you see
I may as well have shot a tree

I think that I shall never see
A poem as lovely as a tree
So in this case, I think you should,
Have taken pictures of some wood!

And as my score continues to sink...
You're right, I think!

But wait I think there's more
I saw a photo not of a tree
not of a ship nor even a door
