Last I heard he was full-tilt pro. Once you go pro, personal photography tends to be a very low priority, or life will be 100% photography. This is something I know for a fact :-) Of course, I don't know what he's doing exactly now... |

I don't think I mentioned this and hadn't seen a post about it, but if anyone remembers Andy Pollard ( awpollard) - he hasn't been around DPC for over 6 years, but I was friends with him on facebook. He passed away last year. He was 56. :( He lived in San Diego, so some of you may have met him. I remember participating in lots of fun side challenges with Andy. He was an outstanding photographer and one of several well respected Marines here at DPC. Sorry for throwing a black cloud in this otherwise joyful reunion, but I thought some of the old timers would want to know.

I used to attend the San Diego DSLR group shoots when I lived there (up until five years ago). Andy was a great guy with a quirky perspective in many of his photos. It was Andy who first told me about DPChallenge and encouraged me to check it out. Thanks, Art, for posting the link. I'd lost touch and wasn't aware of his passing. Quite a loss. |
