I think I like the outtake bowl better (left you a comment) -- the extra-bright swath on the center-left of the entry distracts me from the bowl itself, though it does provide excellent contrast with the bowl's edge.

I took both of these on the same one-block walk across the street from the DMV ...

Barbara, your choice wasn't too bad I guess, although I do like the other bowl a lot as well.

My outtake would have done even worse than my entry, I guess.



It does have the old, patina part of what I found out about wabi sabi on Wikipedia, but is lacking any elegance that should probably go with it.

When looking for a motif I was wandering around in my home and was surprised to find so many Wabi Sabi objects. Finally I made my choice for this:
