Sure, why not? Gary Larson rarely ever did more than one pane. A lot of Family Circus was only one panel. So was Ziggy, which you may have to google.

There are plenty of single-panel comic book pages out there, and any of

gyaban's images proves that you can tell a whole tale in 1200 pixels. Yes it's a helluvalot of work, but doable. It would be more of a daunting task to undertake multiple panels, but so long as the imagery is strong (and probably not too verbose, word balloons and similar eat up a lot of space).

But, a comic strip would be fine, right? Doesn't have to be a whole page, right?

I like my original idea but there are several challenge suggestions in this thread to be considered.

+1...a whole page of panels would be an awful lot of work. A single one-panel comic, ie the Far Side, would do me fine.
