Nice. Much more exciting than a polarizer. Maybe one day I'll get some L glass too.

In the end I bought a more expensive polarizer in the same make as the one I linked to. It cost just under $36. I hope it was worth the extra cost.

Indeed it is. That's how I felt about the Sirui. I've yet to get "first light" through it... waiting for delivery of my new (used) Canon 24-70/2.8L II.

The few reviews I can find seem to be positive. They are a Chinese brand, but they seem to be paying attention to quality. I'll admit I have no familiarity with the name, but apparently they have been in business since 2007.

I don't know too much about filter brands and quality. Does anyone know whether this one is any good? I'd be a lot happier buying direct from a store than having to get one shipped to me.

I too have shoved $20 their way …

I received my 82mm filter today. SIrui does a great job with packaging. Both sides of the filter protected with a removable film, pull tab provided to rev=move the film. Nice hard case. That glass is mighty flat. I anticipate good optical quality. Will have to test the polarization when I get a chance. Looking like a great value.

Sounds good Gina,
PM me if you decide you want to move on it...

Cripes that sucks! I wonder how much it would cost me to ship one to you?

ETA: USPS is quoting me $35.25; still more than the cost of the item, LOL. I'll check UPS and Fed-Ex. Found another option on USPS, at $13.25. That's actually not too too bad. If you'd like, I can confirm that this is a valid price and if so I can buy and ship to you.

Fritz

Thanks for the offer. I guess I should see what's available here before going to all that trouble. If I decide I want one I'll get back to you.

Just on a whim, I looked at the pricing for the 82mm version, and at $29.99 is was also a smokin' deal... so I ordered one, given that I will need to replace my 24-70 soon, and the new version has an 82mm filter thread.

$20 for a good brand name 77mm slim circular polarizer is a heck of a deal.
