Likewise, nevous. Currently looks like I'm working every day until the 26th, which will take me to 27 consecutive days in the office. Ouch. So this first round I'm going to have to shoot around the office.

I'm excited, but a little nervous. This week is going to be a little crazy for me, but I'm determined to find the time to shoot and pull my weight for the team. I hope we get some good challenges!

Right; everyone geared up for the week ahead? Can't wait to see which team we are pitched against, and what challenges we will be contesting.

Still no indication on where our private thread is going to be.

Anyway, I always try to be constructive in my criticism, and I believe in giving praise where praise is due. However, due to a combination of late nights/lots of entries/lazy typing/poorly communicated ideas, I realise that sometimes my criticisms might seem harsh.

And it dawned on me that I might be voting/commenting on one of my fellow team member's photos... (I've never had to deal with affiliations before).

So, if ever any of my comments on your photos seems harsh, please know that I always try to leave comments with the best of intentions - that is to help everyone learn and improve on their photography.

I don't want to dis any of my team mates! Let me know if I've ever upset you :-)

just kidding ... kindof
i mumble something at you after voting ;)
(not to say the comment is wrong/right ... )

I finally got around to updating my profile again, and added our team logo to it.

It's so cool to finally have a team logo on my profile. I'm chuffed :-)

ok, maybe I can start making our team cards? I really like those of Konador - team Smite Council, I mean drawings, not real photos. What do you think?
If you like this idea, maybe you can give me some hints about depicting you. E.g. short hair, blue eyes, or blue hair and green lips like some kind of fantastic creature or whoever you feel you look like!

and I really don't know any DPCers so to persuade them join us. I think we should continue with Free Agents list.

Right all, we've got space for one more. Caillie has decided she would prefer not to have the commitment preasure over the next few weeks. As I said before I would prefer to avoid the free agent pool. So; any candidates?

Except that our coach will always find a way to exclude the form players and stick with last years class. Shame.

Traditional South African Saturday afternoon for me: I'll be watching the game on TV at home with some mates, with a braai going on in the background :-)

I'm actually a Lions fan, so I didn't have the motivation to go stand in a queue for 3 hours to get tickets for Loftus, alhtough I'm sure the atmosphere will be amazing there. I'm glad the SA teams have done well: it bodes well for the World Cup later in the year...

I see that 39 team have now been finalised. There are enough users in the free agent pool to make up a further 11 teams. So, it seems there was no real need to rush to get finalised in the first 24.

My wife (Caillie) is currently making up her mind on whether or not she will be able to make time for submissions what with the looming birth of our first child. Due date is first week of July, so I am inclinded to believe the first round will be over before the kid comes along. If she decides that she can't make the committment then we will need a 7th team member. Looking at the team I think we need soemone from South America. Any ideas?

Note to team: please rescue me from degenerating into a mushy father with no subject matter imagination beyond the child. I'm counting on you here.

Thanks for the offer. No really need though - most of it is just getting us all comfortable with each other.

Hi everyone.

Firstly, I'd like to say thank you for inviting me to join your team.

Although I haven't been very active on DPC for the past couple of months, I have been taking plenty photos, and I've been itching to compete again. I'm really looking forward to being part of a league for the first time.

So let me tell you a little more about me...
I'm a South African, just like Paul. But unlike Paul, I'm still based in South Africa - Johannesburg to be precise. (I think it's quite neat that the members of this team are far-flung across the globe: should allow for some interestingly different perspectives to come through in our collective body of work).

I work as an accountant, but don't let that scare you... I do have a creative side :-)
I've always taken photography more seriously than any of the other interests I've pursued (that can be evidenced from the amount of cash that inevitably gets sunk into photographic equipment). I also write, and play guitar, but photography is definitely my favourite way to express my creativity (it could be because my clumsy fingers are better at pressing a shutter than working a guitar fretboard...)

I'd love to get into sports photography at some stage (I'm a big rugby fan), but at the moment I'm doing mostly studio work. I've recently received the last pieces of my new studio setup (umbrellas and stands). I'm looking forward to using it all in some upcoming DPC challenges.

Oh, and the other thing that I'm very passionate about is my pet chameleons (someone did say that you have to be odd to be part of this team, right?)

dpc is a addiction , yes, distraction from mundane crud at work ..

I'm mainly online during office hours as well, M-F 9:00 - 18:00 EST. I'll probably pop in and out during the evenings as well. I lurk around most of the threads for entertainment purposes (DPC is better than soap operas), but don't contribute much.

If there's anything that I can do to help with the time you're putting into getting the team up and running, let me know. I've been traveling the last couple days, but I'm on my way home today (about to leave for the airport) so I should start having a little more time tomorrow.

odd is good. Anyway, we need someone with a genuine artistic orientation to rescue us from getting over-excited about how apertures work.
