Yes, that's true. I had an account once, and my percentage of shots accepted was below detection so I closed it out of embarrassment. I don't think I'm allowed to go back. :(

If it makes you feel better I have yet to get a photo accepted over there as well. Apparently I keep fouling up their "filter of lameness" and it spits me back out...

Ah, just knowing Jason's never been accepted there makes me feel very good about mine that have been. *cackle*

I have one of my fireworks photos there. It was photo of the day, or week, a year ago at New Year. Then I generally forget about the site... ;-)

Here is mine. I've had a bunch of my submissions rejected, but I've also had a couple on the front page under "popular today" so I can't complain. It's a very different community, but there sure is some stunning work to be found there when you start digging.

Here is my profile page over there. I love the quality of photography over there. I enjoy that site, find it a challenge and have had my fair share of rejections too!

Ooops. No lesson...just stupidity. :O)

Yeah, somehow I got lucky enough to be a "screener's choice," so my shot's been on their home page for a couple of days. Certainly results in more views!

What cracks me up is that the shot is fun, but far from what I consider my best work. Whereas much better shots have been rejected, usually very quickly. I can't figure out what they're looking for, so I submit a more or less random assortment of stuff I've taken for other reasons (mostly for DPC challenges).

Anway, here's my profile, such as it is.

Amy, I think you're normal in having a small percentage approved. Other than the superhuman Ursula, of course. :)

And Deb, as far as I know, anyone can set up an account and comment. Unless that changed.

Jeff, it's quirky, shouts for attention, grabs the viewer by the eyeballs and gives him a shake. Exactly the kind of shot sites want on their homepage :)

If you are not a member you can't search other than by simply paging through and hoping to find who you are looking for. I understand that if you are a member/have an account, there's a search box. Not sure why the unwashed general public can't do that, though.

Hehehe, someone on the inside just told me that that's not the reason your pinhole shot wasn't published there. :)

lol Ursula, am not wanting to hijack this thread and thank-you for your indepth critique, much appreciated and should clarify the reson for non publication .....

Additional remarks: Of those who voted against your image, five indicated that there is a problem with technical quality, four noted sharpness as a weakness and three selected impact as a reason for not publishing the image.

Nice thread :)

The reason I think the initial link didn't work was because it's a .Net not .Com. Dot net one still redirects correctly.
