Holy crap this thread dates back to 2010....scary how many are no longer here (and look at how artificially high scores look then compared to now)

Yeah......I've been going down progressively since yesterday morning.....

Same here, big drop .. seems like trolls are having a ball!

I've had a rash of low votes also (4 average) over the last two hours.

Hmmmm, I got "R 4"

You must be the next model up... :)

I got "r 5" was wondering what that meant....

It likely means your shot is 2 R's better than mine.

R4 for me. I wrote to the poster and asked him to please explain the comment but he didn't write back.

Why would anyone still be updating their score this late into voting? It won't change. In my experience, after 20 to 25 votes are tallied, you pretty much know your score and it won't move much from that spot.

I would disagree. My entry in Entrance II started at around 4.4-4.5 at 25 votes. It finished with a 5.3. That's a pretty good swing.

Yup -- my score in stop motion was at 6.11 in 146 votes and ended at 6.36. I've had some huge climbs and huge drops at the end. Although this one has been flat-lining for quite awhile now (staying constant, not dying!) :)

That commenter isn't voting so I don't much care.

They're not voting because they're just a registered user, not a member, and only members can vote in member challenges.

well 9 comments and a 5 score

most comments are rather positive which doesnt explain the average score? (I'm delighted that i have a lot of comments; its very unusual to get so many! -- I do wish those who are scoring on the lower end would comment tho and explain their differing views of the image? it would b helpful...)

(out of the ordinary = doing what you do not expect to see keep that in mind folks when you are commenting-and especially voting)

-eh back to real-life perhaps over the next 2 days of voting my score will miraculously rise above average... and perhaps goats will do the irish jig on on a cloud for my entertainment too... heh

maybe the person/ people are commenting then rating based on their notations? everyone has their own kinds of systems -

ie 1-5 might be something like a 6-10 ?

i've completely quit trying to figure out what dpc likes or doesn't like at this point; someone made a really good comment to me yesterday after I showed them my photo and told them its currently scoring 'average' they said and its a loose quote "you can't judge art by the internet- it means different things to everyone- and sometimes nothing at all"

--

like all of you- I received a R vote - I'm curious what it means but - I'm gonna guess its telling me on that persons system how I rate (ie if my image moved them, if its aesthetically pleasing or whatever their scale is based on) (either that or they're hoping we'll all tell what our scores are and what R vote we have so that they can figure out where they stand in the challenge....?) HmmMm something to contemplate i suppose; orr maybe its a school assignment for a photography class and a special coding for that - ? or maybe its a guess of who will place where? one can only guess until the answer is revealed ;)
