There's a program called anyVideoConversion which I used to convert wmv to mpeg-4 that worked quite well. It allows you to convert from pretty much anything to anything else.

I have used VideoPad - the trial version for a simple extract.

Anyone know an easy way to capture a clip from a DVD and save it for posting on the web? I have Adobe Premiere but haven't used it and not sure if it does that. Is there a cheap/free tool to do this?
