I'll still check in from time to time, but no way I'm leaving a window up. |
Agree with the obnoxious advertising thing. 90 million views. They got greedy. Still good to check in once in a while to check progress, but I no longer leave a window open either. |

Me too. And actually, I watch significantly less frequently because of it. When I had a window always open, I remembered to check it. Now, out of sight out of mind. |

Yes, I have a window open frequently except when the camera lens is cloudy.
It was lovely for a while again, but when I checked just now, I see it has been targeted again.
Sound? What sound. Of course I usually have it turned off ... I HATE commercials. But I think it is USStream that is targeting the commercial feed rather than the raptor center. |

They made pretty short work of a fish now - it lasted all of about a minute. The little ones were grabbing pieces out of mother's mouth almost faster than she could rip the fish apart. I don't suppose they'll need feeding much longer. |

On April 24, DCNUTTER said

So take about 3.5 weeks off that. |

It's such a surprise that they lie down & pillow their heads on the nest when they sleep. Like puppies. They're gaining muscle tone all the time--those wings are huge. |

I just tuned in the Decorah Eagle link again after some time away.
Those babies have grown. What was once a spacious nest is tiny now. And the transformation
of the little white balls of fluff into these big black bruisers with dangerous beaks is just amazing.
PS - I see that the views are down from over 100,000 to a measly 28,000+-.

Are they all still in the nest? |

Now can we name the eagles?
They should name the dad after him.

Pretty amazing scene right now: all 5 birds in the nest, both adults eating, fledglings trying to get fed and being rebuffed. ETA: they each seem to have their own stash, and some of them are tearing at it, but they keep trying to take the easy way out, and the parents are having none of it :-)

Yeah, remarkable. That nest is really, really crowded. |

So fascinating to watch the little one who wants to fly, waving his wings and jumping up and down, but they're just not strong enough to carry him yet. |

I really wish they would use a wider angle lens because sometimes it is impossible to see what is going on there at all now they are so big. |

They are getting huge! Not much room left in that nest of theirs.
It was nice to see, in the raptor Center notes, that
We have received enough donations this year to fully fund the eagle cam next year, so we are not taking any more at this time. Thank you for your generosity!
I suppose Ustream adds the commercials and, yes, that annoying voice over c#$%, for their assistance in carrying the live feed.
Ah, remember when there was a soft nest with down, and a bowl in which the babies huddled when a parent covered them with a wing in inclement weather? How quickly adolescence comes to these magnificent critters. As one of the moderators said, "they are doing their 'wingercizes' now." |

Stopped by (don't get to watch much anymore now that I can't leave it running). It was night but it was very cool to see one trying to fly!
He doesn't quite have it...kind of looks like if one of us spread our arms and took a few steps and a couple of jumps. At least he didn't get any higher than we could!
Left it on until one of those REALLY obnoxious and loud ads came on. Off again. |

Doing some serious testing of the wings today, with one of the adults right on the branch beside. Nice to have the cameras in control to while this is going on :) |

I wish I'd seen that. It doesn't look like it will be long now until they are flying. |
