Watching those Decorah Eagles and the kids can become a real time sink.
I tuned in 'just for a minute' and 45 of those minutes later, I came up for air.
The provided window on those three little ones and their parents is just amazing.
bye now. back for more...

They don't give them names, just numbers.

They're munchin' on something mom found buried in the nest apparently. Leftovers!

Maybe it's dad, I don't know.

Heartbreaking news again...... one of this year's brood was found electrocuted yesterday. Another is in the hospital with SOAR, suffering from a broken wing sustained when a severe storm hit Decorah just as the baby eagles fledged this year. They were all separated for a while, but things seemed to be going well until yesterday.

All those eventless years in a row sure set us up for unrealistic expectations. How very sad.

Yeah, those Decorah parents were so competent they made us forget how very many obstacles those baby birds face every single day.

Only 50,000+ people watching. Eggs (3) to hatch any day now. It's more fun to watch this nest than do the work I'm supposed to be doing. LOL!!!!!

Reposting link for latecomers.

They are addicting to watch, one of my favorite things to do while I am working..

One of my favorite times of the year! The only time I like winter

Here is another cam for Liberty and Justice.. Liberty is on her eggs right now

Did they reposition the cameras? I can't see the ground anymore...

The Alcoa nest worries me. While I was excited to see her on the nest this morning, she seemed uneasy. When I just checked a moment ago, the nest was empty. The meddling juveniles and that first broken egg seem to have the pair uncertain of themselves.

The Decorah nest, on the other hand, is looking very promising with a very broody mamma on the nest.

Just checked the Alcoa nest and yeah, still empty :(

The Decorah nest pair has been doing this a while, quite seasoned parents :)

They been having a lot of cam issues this year for the alcoa one, so I am not sure if they did reposition them or not..
I saw them building the nest.. Liberty and Justice have been cammed now since 2010, the decorah cam always seems more stable for some reason.

she is in the nest now and dinner is served, but its very windy, they also been having issues with the juvies don't wanna seem to leave home.. dang teens LOL I cried when I saw the egg break though and that is so sad..

Just wanted to share this, I actually was priveledged to see these decorah eagles a couple years ago,
These were the babies from that area but they were in their second year from what the guide told us, this was taken from my canon point and shoot LOL
