Well, PennyClick and I are in California now, in the hills above San Jose. I just played a round of golf with my brother in law at his club, and that was lovely, warm and sunny and green. I'll process some snapshots of that shortly. Yesterday Penny and I went trolling around in the redwood hills above Hillside, and had a nice al fresco lunch under some big trees:

So that's it for starters. We'll be messing around out here for a little more than a month, so check this spot for future updates :-)

Have fun in California while I'm in England, where the only time it's sunny is when I'm revising for exams LOL.

Ahh, sunny California! How jealous am I! It's been a cold and rather unpleasant Spring here. Have fun out there... oh wait, looks like you already are!

as one who has studied the weather patterns of Northern California for more years than I care to can remember,
these two selected the best time of all to visit our fair land.

Ooh, San Jose? Enjoy the weather here! :). Are you planning on going up to the James Lick Observatory at any point?

I hadn't actually thought of that but it's not a bad idea; been what, 40 years since I've been there? Long time, anyway? Why, you work there?

Oh, no I don't work there, nor have I shot there before (although from some of my friends' photos it looks like an amazing view) - I suggested it because I've heard it was a good place to get some nice photos. Haven't actually been shooting very long, so I just stick to places around my area.

We will be in the San Diego area for about a week at the first part of June. I'm jealous I wish I was there already!

Nope. Furthest south we're likely to get is Morro Bay, and maybe not even that far.

What fun! Hope you and Penny have a ball. My wife and I plan on getting down that way this year, likely later in the summer. Beautiful country.

Enjoy! Let me know if you change your mind and wander South.

Just to prove we're actually HERE... Took the family to the airport yesterday, then did a quick circuit of the NorthCoast, as far up as Pt. Reyes. Stopped for a classic tourist picture of the golden gate, but did it with a twist. I present... (drum roll)

Alrighty! We made it to Yosemite! Woke at 4:30 ayem, on the road at 5 ayem, got to Yosemite about 9:30 ayem (whatta drive) and this is us at Tunnel View overlook. Apparently we are gonna get drenched with rain tomorrow, but fortunately we have a lovely, spacious B&B room by the river, so we'll be good to relax :-) Penny's got some pics of that, for later. Meanwhile:

So, you got within 10 miles of me. Perhaps some day...

Enjoy your visit, it's why I moved here.

It's VERY likely we'll be heading back to Pt Reyes on a day trip after memorial day, to walk into the seashore. Want to show us around?

Our last day at Yosemite, Here's a snapshot to show how we lucked out with fresh snowfalls the last 2 nights down to 5,000 feet. I'm keeping the best shots aside until I've chosen one for the May FS :-)
