I think something similar to this one... it's a very good challenge if you ask me.

two for two for Langdon ;)

Hah... I'm 3000 miles from home...

I'm off on a business trip for 10 days in a few hours :-/

I wonder if I walk out of my hotel for less than 100 metres it would be technically a DNMC?

I think we had a challenge like this once before. 100 steps or something like that, and one of the winning photos was not taken within the guidelines and still won, because it wasn't an extra rule. Maybe it should be this time. :D

Hmm, my 3 highest scoring images are all within 100 metres of home.

Yes, MattO 47 steps was the one. And there was a bit of a furore afterwards as people thought it wasn't in the spirit of the challenge.

Well, I'm gonna consider "the place where I am staying" = "home" and give it a whirl. Or I could use "the house where I used to live" because I have a former home very near to where I am staying right now... I wouldn't feel like either of those was "cheating"...

Yup..the first thing I thought of when I saw the challenge was the 47 Step challenge. It's going to be funny seeing how many people live (or have second homes) 100 yards or less from the Grand Canyon, the Eiffel Tower, the Matterhorn, etc. and never mentioned it. LOL....of course I'm just trying to be funny, but for those who enter it I would hope they put some honest thought into it and we will hopefully avoid the drama surrounding the last attempt at this.

Come'on...after all we all (most of us) just survived the rapture! Nothing else quite seems so serious after that. :P

How are the winners going to validate their entry, do we need witnesses as to where they live :)

Langdon will send "shock necklaces" to all DPC members to wear during shooting. If you pass 100 meters of your home, you'll get shocked with high voltage... If you shocked three times, you probably won't remember where your house was and forget your name too.

I think that's what he was planning anyways :P

What was wrong with the 47 steps challenge, I just looked and it seems ok?

47 steps

One of the front pagers was somewhat insincere, admittedly and almost boastfully so. Welcome to the kaleidoscope.

I'm on a 2 month caravan road trip.
So does that exclude me or can I shoot within 100m of my caravan site? (this changes every couple of days).

I don't see why not. The contentious 47 stepper hypothesized that he might have been camping next to his spectacular scene. Peoples were annoyed because he wasn't.

The challenge states, take a photo "Outside of Home" so that can mean our back/front yard, right?? Or the neighbours ?

I'm travelling too this week.... I'll probably stick one in anyway. I don't think challenges are designed to exclude people - so providing people aren't making special trips beyond 100m just for the photo opportunity and are shooting 100m from where they are sleeping, that would seem fair to me.

Of course, I have a vested interest in this interpretation.

Well they didn't have far to walk to take it.

Ha! No kidding. I might even have time to get into this one. All the travelers do scare me, however. Nothing too interesting within 100 meters of me, but this will make me look for it.

If your caravan stops anywhere near Piha, you might want to give it a miss otherwise I think you should be okay & it will be great to read the comments in the "He was more than 100 metres from his home" thread that will follow when you ribbon.

Hmmmmm.... won't be the first time I'm done photos in the parking lot of my apartment complex.

Would my tent be considered my home?

I'm really bad with metric conversions. ;D
