Looks like I'll be here and free on the 4th, anyone care to advise me as to what the best place up here will be to go shoot?

I'm thinking about slamming down to NYC and catching the fireworks over the Statue of Liberty, but since I've not scouted the location I'm looking for advice both specific to that location and advice as to the NE in general for the 4th..

Thanks all!

And I am aware of this thread, so no need to duplicate the excellent NYC advice there, I'd only need some detail regarding shooting the Statue of Liberty with respect to the fireworks show - (Basically where the heck should I try to position myself, and how early should I arrive?)

Boston Pops 4th of July spectacular, on the banks of the Charles River, is arguably the best fireworks in the country.

Damn straight. It gets televised nationally every year. And it's a great setting, much less hassle than NYC as long as you're happy with remote parking and hoofing around, which I am sure you are.

That's probably not going to work out for you. The fireworks are launched from barges on the Hudson River halfway up Manhattan, so I think you'd have to be on a boat behind Liberty Island or maybe on a pier in Bayonne, NJ to get them in the same frame.
