Been waiting for this one.

"The height of the fall foliage season" happened 2-3 weeks ago. Boo. Doesn't this usually happen earlier?

Maybe the Fall Foliage challenge should be run for the whole month of October next year. The peak is so unpredictable, and varies so much from place to place. Of course, there is always Free Study for the early Fall shots.

As it's only the second foliage challenge ever, I don't think there is a usually :) But the timing was very similar last time and this is a 2 week challenge.

ETA Link Foliage i

At least here we are quite far along in the shedding leaves process. Nothing stopping me taking pics of all the leaves on the floor I suppose

Fall? Fall! We're the fall guys, that's what. The only thing fall-ing will be our scores. Fall is 6 months away here. Soooo.... a 6 months challenge for us then, or who's paying for my ticket from sunny South Africa to the Everglades?

fall colours were yesterday and today. chez nous.

Foliage needn't be restricted to Fall foliage, though I don't like the chances of competing against that season. A week ago here the Cedrelas were clothed in beautiful pink spring foliage, but have now gone into their transitional murky pallor before they turn green. Besides that we had a severe hailstorm on Saturday which cut much of the foliage (and flowers) to shreds.

The first pic, that I can emulate in the southern hemisphere, came in at no 70 in the previous Foliage challenge.

And of course I have never been close to having the best pic, in either the Northern or Southern, or any other sphere you may care to mention.

I'm just lonely and needed someone to talk to. Thanks Art. hehe.

hmmm...this challenge will truly be a challenge.
no fall colors here.

Here fall colors are not completely visible. In the weekend I've been in the mountains in a place where I usually go in October to see the wonderful colors of the trees. This time most of the trees were still green. But this challenge is open for two weeks :)

Is it just me that reads the title/description and notices that we are NOT required to have fall colors. The challenge is simply scheduled now, but has no requirement of the foliage being fall oriented.

Agh, I saw it immediately, but it's much more fun whining than having to think about boring green foliage. Especially when Art gets to join the fray.

No fall colors required. Who knows what the voters will do.

ps: Conditions of my early release prohibit me from joining the fray.
