Thanks to your tip on one of my earlier photos, my computer spent most of yesterday cranking out a higher-resolution version of the panoramic image to "planetize" ... I then had to do a bit of retouching to get the edges to match up. Also, if you run the Polar Coordinates filter on the entire, enlarged layer, and not selecting the image area, you can get this "Ringworld" effect ... BTW Tim wrote up the instructions into a "How'd They Do That?" article under the Learn menu.

- This shot was taken without a tripod. I was actually using a food truck right next to me as a base to hold my camera on. Worked out kinda nice.

- The guy behind the man walking was looking at all of our cameras.

- Read? Set...... GO!!! Bike vs. car... Ultimate race to the finish line! Lol.

- Lots of birds wanting left behind food. Managed to capture this little fella on the prowl for food!

I've been pretty busy since the GTG so i'm just getting to this but i wanted to say how much i enjoyed getting out and meeting a bunch of great dpc people. Deb ( Melethia), Johanna ( tanguera), Mae ( hihosilver) and Ben ( bspurgeon). All incredibly wonderful people. I like knowing them by their real names, that makes dpc more like a home rather than an "internet place". You guys were great, thanks for the warm welcome you gave to my wife and I.

Here are a few of the pictures i managed to take: gtg photos

Slow to post as well, more to come, and I echo Brian's post. We had a great time, and my kids loved the company.

I am deeply appreciative to have spent time with Johanna ( Tanguera), Deb ( Melethia), Ben ( BSpurgeon), Brian and Tammy ( BrianTammy). Johanna carries herself with such elegant poise and confidence, and her beautiful hazel eyes are filled with intelligence, talent and wit that would light up any room (well, in this case, the beach!). Deb did a terrific job of picking such a scenic beach for this get together and organizing all of us! She has a deep caring for everyone around her as she clearly shows in her images, and she inspires my trust to no end! After three kids and four grandchildren, Brian and Tammy still hold hands during a romantic sunset and Tammy inspires me beyond belief with her patient serenity. Of course, we all know Ben from his photography, but I have to say the Best of Ben resides in his three adorable children, Abby, Bella and Sophie.

Here are a few images and my deepest thank you to DPC for having this 10h anniversary party so I may spend time with these lovely folks!

DPC GTG - Malibu, Pt. Dume

P.S. I wish I were as lightening fast to post the images as Melethia! I'll try to add a few more later on.

Addendum: Mae actually picked the beach and we were all quite grateful for her extensive knowledge of the area. She knew the path through the rocks and the path up the cliff, and most importantly knew a place for dinner, AND got nine of us in to a Malibu restaurant on PCH on a Saturday night. A very classy lady is our Mae!

Found about 28 more photos to edit -- will have to do it in batches. We started out beating the tour busses up to the Twin Peaks overlook ...

More and Bigger Photos Here

We were an intrepid band of hardy, adventuresome, photogs that also had the benefit of time on their hands and weren't afraid of snow.

plus a few groupies (a.k.a. spouses)

We met at the Smith Tower, once the tallest building west of the Mississippi, shown in the first photo. It's a classic with neat neat elevator still operated by an elevator operator and a lovely marble and copper elevator lobby. The weather was getting bad as we arrived and got worse when we ascended to the observation deck (next 3 photos). We hung around shooting the living tweedle out of the Seattle cityscape.

We then descended and made our way to the King Street Rail Station. It's an old fashioned station with lots of decorative fru fru and a severe privacy activist.

It took some time getting there because a bunch of photogs creates a lot of stopping-to-take-pictures as I'm sure you know.

By now it was seriously snowing so we made our way to the Merchant's Cafe for food and adult beverages (photos below). By the time we left it was seriously seriously snowing and Seattle's been largely closed for business every since ... at least through today the 19th.

While i'm sure it has been a bit of a challenge with the snow there, it sure made for beautiful photographs! Thanks for sharing these!

What with the Italian shipwreck and everything we headed down to the water to see the similar cruise liner Carnival Spirit in dry-dock for servicing ...
not every boat in the harbor was quite that big ...

There were plenty of birds there too

Well, it took for bloody ever, but I finally edited all the images I liked from our GTG. Yes, I probably posted too many, but I enjoyed reliving that day. Hope you do too.

One of our stops was an alley where almost every surface has a mural painted on it ... and I somehow felt compelled to make a composite of these signs; the murals are all stitched from 2-3 images ...
